Computer Troubles

I moved this from the computers board because of more coverage



OK Here's the situation.........

I downloaded a dodgy file on the computer off Kazaa ( ) I therefore deleted it straight away, yet it still *&^%ed up the computer and all the programs that are down near where the clock is (Speakers, Winamp, Mouse, Kazaa and MSN)

After de-fragging the hell out of the computer I have got everything back up and running down there except MSN, the icon will still not show and I have tried to reinstall it but nothing.

I have down Norton Anti Virus and this has shown no viruses on the computer.

MY QUESTION

Does anyone have any more ideas of how I can get MSN back up and running?

Is it just my computer or have others had similar problems? It is really $%^&ting me up the wall!

Since I had my computer fixed because someone had been tampering with it, I can no longer use msn, it doesn't recognise my old log in details, so I registered a new one & it still won't let me in, be like me & just say screw msn.

I've cracked the &*()s and have gone to the Messenger site to download it again yet it keeps jamming up.

Do a proper uninstall then reinstall. If its not in your add/remove program list then I'd do a msn.*.* search and delete every found file then reinstall.
I suspect you have an old cookie that won't recognise the new install.

A very simple solution.... format the thing. It fixes every problem under the sun.

That's not true..It won't fix world hunger

But seriously, All I can say is you should try and uninstall it through Add/Remove programs in your Control Panel: (Start>settings>control panel) If that doesn't work you should do what I tell everyone to do and read the FAQs on the messanger website if anyone else has had the problem it's more likley to be listed there than here.

A format would of had it up and running within 2 hrs....
