Where was Murphy for the first half yesterday?, were the tweezers working fulltime getting the splinters out?. Play him on the ground from the start, be it half forward flank, forward pocket or full forward. Get him in the game.

You can never win!!!. Last year Pav was played in the midfield and everyone in the "know" was saying play him at CHF. Now that Brown is being played in the midfield it is a masterstroke. I have big doubts about CC, but I think he is in a no win situation with Pav and the media.

Black, where was he for the first half?.

Give all the kids a go, they all seem to play well, rather than the experienced players.

brown plays midfield sparingly and when he does he still pays CHF outisde the centre bounce contests

yeterday i saw pav in that the centre bounce about 5 minutes from the end of the match, what the hell is the point of that? nice change CC, if ur gonna make a change do it when the game is in grasp, e.g. take johnson off hall in the 3rd quarter after he kicks 2 goals! u could see the kid couldnt match him, developing players is all well and good but when a game is on the line it is not the time!

back to the point of ur post: dont worry about pav, the scg just didnt suit his style at chf yesterday. CHF is definately the place for him, but CC has to use him positively in the centre and in the backline when necessary. but such changes never come or are far too late

I reckon Pav was brilliant in the midfield 2003-04, we lacked penetrating kicker in the midfield, & he was the answer....he was our best option at FB, CHB, CEN, RR, CHF & FF...you can't play him everywhere.

He, obviously, had to go to CHF for 2005...& he has again been brilliant...but blind freddy, could have told u that he should have played in the midfield for an extended period of time at the Scg with the smaller ground.

Re Murphy...what is the point of him being selected? Last week v Brisbane, I think he kicked a goal everytime he was on the field....IMO I think he should be groomed as a CHB, prior to becoming a FF, he has great hands, good pace, & I reckon he'd be a better option than polak at CHB...of course, I'll never know because CC wouldn't go there

Agree, Pav is brillant and our only consistant performer week in and week out.

Also agree, what is the point of selecting Murphy parking him on the bench. The kid needs to be put on the ground and left there. It just irks me no end to watch CC bugger him about, never really knowing where he is going to or if he is going to play and this is not doing his confidence any good.

Do not agree that he should be at CHB. He is a FF and we need him there.

To me it appears very few teams play a real CHF at the SCG cause the ground is too damn short. Tell me who was playing CHF for the swannies?

The lack of room was why Pav only got a few marks way up on the wing, otherwise he was being beaten up by the two defenders hanging off him.

Why is it that every week Pavlich has 2 defenders on him for nearly every contest but at the other end the oppositions best forward is one out?
