it was a great game by the captain. he should be proud of his efforts and i just hope he can play well for the rest of the season. and leave poor dawson alone. give the kid a break its not easy coming up against the best players in the comp week in and week out. sure he has had a bag kicked against him every week but what will it do for his confidence getting bagged every week?

Norm Smith set the record in 1948 so it was great to see Neitz break the record last night. Most of the Melbourne fans saluted him after the goal and when he got taken off at the end of the game with a standing ovation.

Next week will be 272 against West Coast, and then the games record will be shattered against St. Kilda at the MCG the following week.

Everyone (including people on this board) wrote him off at the start of the year, particularly after the Adelaide game, i must've been the only one not to abuse him, thoroughly deserved, and imagine if he had've played his whole career up forward, he'd be a chance at 1000 i honestly reckon
