Whoever uploads highlights of AFL matches better get the Fletcher goal on youtube stat.
You mean the Fletcher rushed behind.....clearly touched.
Well done Bombers though. Need some better decision making in the backline though. With the injuries you guys copped, to hang on and get you a spot in the eight is great for the club.

Well done Bombers...you've made my wife very happy :)

Cheers guys.
Actually had a Saints supporter and his young son in front of me.
The dad said Essendon deserves to win this game and hopes we win...
I couldn't look, heard the roar then looked up and saw Essendon members around me hugging...couldn't believe it. He even shook my hand and said well done, great game. His son was shattered so I told him not to worry, you're playing finals! :thumbsu:
So proud of the MIGHTY BOMBERS! Well done boys! :D

Great game!

Really sets up a great final Essendon v Carlton ...should be a cracker.

Hmmm.
Still 2 rounds to go,
and I know we have owned Carlton for awhile now, but if that game were to happen, Carlton will be ready to tear us a new arseh*le.
Hoping Fletch, Dempsey and Ryder will be fit and ready to go if we play finals..

I really hope you beat the Blues and you must be in with a chance after today. Relegate the blues to 4th and let us play the Doggies round one!

Congrats Bombers that is a true club building win coming up against the best team in the comp and then to lose 3 players to injuries and still hold on for the win inspirational stuff.
All the best for the finals

Re: Well done

Congrats Guys!

I tipped the Bombers actually so I couldn't be happier :D.

Not to mention I HATE St.Kilda and I HATE Riewoldt. So Riewoldt missing after the siren, for me, made it THAT MUCH BETTER! HOO-RAH! lol.

THANK YOU ESSENDON, THANKS FOR SAVING ME :D

Thanks guys, I do not know how we managed to hold on.

I'll give you an idea how the guys felt, and played on. Some were staggering, one guy, don't know if it was Ricky Dyson, couldn't even bend down, Atkinson had a really hard bump towards the end and limped around for quite some time. Then when Pat Ryder was being carried off, Fletcher jumped up from the bench and started to run along the sideline to warm up; when he arrived back past the bench, some Essendon Official grabbed his arm and made him sit down - he was in no condition to play. The were massaging every limb on Jobe's body.

First off, thanks for keeping our 50+ year record safe, secondly, congratulations on a massive win.
With ten minutes to go I honestly thought you guys were looking down the barrel of a three goal defeat with the Saints storming home and many Bomber players almost out on their feet; several hours later and I'm still not sure how you managed to hang on with such a depleted unit, although words like guts, will and determination come to mind.

Fingers crossed for young Ryder, the kid can play a bit, gonna be a huge talent in a year or two. :thumbsu:

Re: Well done

Great win by the guys. Up by 43 points late in the third quarter and just managed to squeeze home with basically no interchange it was a great effort against the best team in the league.
So glad we didnt drop the game again after the siren and really happy with Monfries who sparked us in the first half.
The determination from the boys to come back after being 2 goals down in a matter of minutes after the bounce was sensational and our second and third quarters were terrific.

This wasn't a fluke, it was a great strategic game by Essendon early where they targeted a St Kilda weakness and prevailed. Knights has had some strange selections and strategy this season at times but tonight definitely had a winner!

Re: Well done

Just too good for us on the day kids.

Really enjoyed the game, despite the fact we had some silly supporters behind us for a quarter and a bit. :p But yeah, it was a great game to watch...always knew the Saints would come back but jeez never thought it would be a kick after the siren.

The loss in 2000 seemed to do you guys well, here's hoping. :D

Good luck in September, and please knock off Carlton!
