Good win to the cats, handled the weather better and played overall a hell of a lot better aswell. Hope yr form kicks on for the rest of the year, it'd be good to see some more feline orientated teams in the finals!

Thanks guys. I'd say we're smokies for the flag at best; your mob, the Saints, Melbourne and Essendon would have to be ahead of us still. Our best shot at the flag will be in 2005-07 I reckon.

Congrats Pussies. You guys played awesomly and it sure as hell was cold and wet down at pussyhollow.I love watching Ablett.

Yeah congrats guys! Your side has been getting my respect more and more over the last few weeks, and is confirmed today. All the best for the rest of the season and see you in September! :)

Thanks to all the Lions fans for their classy and respectful wishes.

It does take two to tango, after all, and no team other than the three-time defending premiers pushed us all the way for three quarters and beyond.

A quality win for Geelong, yes-- but thanks to Brisbane (and its fans) for providing an almighty challenge.

You ppl are very graceful in defeat. However you are still definately the benchmark of the competition, one average game does not change that.

It's a shame that it's such a rare thing these days.

We might have won 3 in a row, and still (even after today) be in a good position to challenge for our 4th BUT, it isn't a given.

Ppl can proclaim, ppostualte, prolifilate and sanctimoniously argue about the lions success - but you'll never ever find a Lions supporter taking 100% for granted a win before it has happened.

As supporters we go in week in and out worrying about our teams performance. And today was a day that we were beaten, not 'lost', but beaten by the better team. And we (as those from teh Bears, Fitzroy and the 97 - 2000 seasons lions) are more than happy to acknowledge the better the team on the day.

As I've said before on many other threads - congrats - and more then just winning to today - you've got that lions bogey off your back! Well done!

p.s. I'm glad it's my monday off. facing gubby and leigh at 8am on a monday after a loss isn't in my top 10 list of "favourite things to do!" - I haven't bought any clothes that actually blend in with the furniture yet! !!

I thought Leigh had mellowed after all those years.

It was great to see Leigh follow the Lions fans here, and give Geelong some credit for the performance. A breath of fresh air to see a coach not make up excuses for why their team lost (our coach does it, sadly).
