Just a small thread to acknowledge the many great things Ian did for our club and the class he showed in resignation, including being in the rooms after the Richmond match post resignation.

I for one am happy to see he wasn't permanently tarnished and quickly secured another high profile Sports Administration position.

good. i'm happy he came to us.

His leadership through this saga has been huge, just like it was huge following Knights' removal. He helped get us Hird, Bomber, overseen new facilities and landed Goddard. Thanks for everything Robbo and goodluck for the future :thumbsu:

Just goes to show what a farce it is that people are forced to resign to appease the public/members/AFL/media whoever.

The guy was the best man for the job before the drugs controversy, and still was at the time he resigned. If he made mistakes of governance during the period under question, well, that's perfectly normal and usual that not everything done under your watch is perfect.

I hate the idea that you sack anybody who makes a mistake.

And on the same theme, whatever the outcome of the ASADA investigation Hird, Thompson and whatever other staff we employ that might be under pressure to keep their positions...... to hell with it, if we think they are the best at what they do, hang onto them. Don't let the critics force them out.
