Bit harsh there hotpie. His 2003 was reasonably good. Certainly better than a few on the list have ever put together and some of them have played plenty.

Yeah it was a bit tongue in cheek and a tad harsh. His progress has definitely been slow, but finally the perseverance is starting to pay off. His pace is definitely important to us this year. His confidence is now sky high and his skills have improved as a result.

My most pleasing moment watching him this year was how he handled a clanger. Against Richmond he was tearing up the track and lost the ball while bouncing, as per the 2003 GF. The Richmond crowd roared in laughter. Five minutes later Rhyse was on the other wing tearing up the ground and prepared to carry and bounce the ball through the middle. His clanger was forgotten quickly and he was back doing what he does best.

yeah well done to him.rhyce is one of a number of young players from all clubs who struggle to bounce the ball properly , is it that the shape has changed so much, or the players just dont go for a long run anymore?.

Combination of players not bouncing the ball as often as they did in the past, and longer grass to prevent injury. You really have to smack the ball into the turf hard to make sure it comes back into your hands. Aussie Jones lost the ball bouncing it last weekend, it seems to me more frequent these days.

Amazing how the Rhyce knockers had scurried back under their rocks only to reamerge chanting the name of Jason Cloke. I guess playing good footy will do that.

Can't agree with you Bob, Rhyce has arrived and was held back but health concerns as much as anything else. Still prone to the odd mistake, but every player is. Used to get it ten times and turn it over plenty, now gets it twenty times and rarely turns it over. Like I said before the Rhyce knockers have gone to ground, let's hope he keeps it up.

Well done to Rhyce. He has started to find his feet now and I hope he kicks on again next year and beyond. Has taken a while to find his feet but footy is a pretty tough caper at that level and some people take time. Hodge is looking good now but was questioned earlier on.
His clanger counts seems to be dropping because he is getting more experience in different situations. He has genuine pace and he will become even better if we happen to get another couple of quality midfielders from somewhere.
