And I have real empathy with saints fans, many who probably turned up in the mud and rain week after week to watch their team get beaten by 20 goals by the power clubs in the early 80's just as I did. And I can relate to the fans who stuck by their team when they were on the bottom of the ladder and people were calling for their extinction. And who have to put up with the "tragic history and only one premiership " regular jibes just as I do. So yeah, if the bulldogs can't win, it would be great for the saints to have a turn.

it's posts like this that engender great respect for supporters such as y'self and clubs like the dogs.
For me if you substitute saints with dogs I think you'd have the opinion of many level headed saints fans
Kind regards and all the best for the rest of the season TBFB.

Its not a matter of having a second team. I just have a soft spot for the underdog and think that it would be great to have all those years of loyalty by the saints fans rewarded at some stage.

St.Kilda are a much older and more experienced side than Collingwood that may struggle once Gold Coast enters the AFL. They don't have a lot of quality youth coming through, and they have yet to play a first game player this season. This season could be their last chance for some success. Collingwood have already debuted three players this season, and there will be more to come,

Give us a tniy little stat to back up your arguement (that means nothing in the overall scheme of things!) and continue on along your merry way.

how about this stat:

"Sydney, Fremantle and St Kilda also rank in the top three for average senior games played. Collingwood's list, on average, has played 70.4 senior games and ranks fourth for games played".

Go to the Collingwood board and have a look at the thread that 'NeXus_Helen' started.

Nexus is a troll so the thread is irrelevant

So it seems the match is already over a week before it starts.Obviously I don't believe you. You certainly haven't pointed out what you don't agree with, and I certainly have not been "making excuses already." I am a realist, because it's going to be difficult to win without Didak and possibly Shaw, Medhurst and Jack Anthony when St.Kilda is in it's current form. Spin it anyway you like.

So what about Hudghton, Maguire and possibly King. All teams have outs. Also out of those players you listed Shaw as been terrible this year anyway and Anthony shoudln't be relied upon to influence a game. So really it's only Didak and Medhurst

Simon Prestigiacomo has been terrific this season, and he may be able to continue his form. He was injured last season and he didn't play in that match.

If you seriously think Presti can play on Roo then you are clueless. Presti is a good backman but Riewoldt will run him into the ground. Brown got towelled up last time and the other option would be Harry O who may go alright. But Presti what a joke.

Why?

They don't have a lot of quality youth coming through,

I'd say Gilbert, Ray, Geary, Dawson and Eddydisagree with that. Also we have Miles, Armitage, McEvoy, Lynch among others coming through

and they have yet to play a first game player this season. This season could be their last chance for some success. Collingwood have already debuted three players this season, and there will be more to come,

How many debuts a team has is irrelevant. How many will Melbourne have this season? I'd say having loads of first gamers is a sign of an unsettled side trying to find ways to fill holes in their line-up

but enjoy the win next week and all the best for the rest of the season! :thumbsu: Maybe we'll get you later in the season! :)

I'm pretty sure we only play you once in the H&A season ;)

Don't forget Allen, Dempster and X Clarke, all of whom were pushing for selection/already in the side before their injuries.
