Congratulations to the Hawks. You stuck at it and ran away with it. Some of your average players stood up like champions and that was the difference in the end. You always know Hodges and Batemans etc. are going to play well but blokes like Guerra and Ellis and Birchall and Young were sensational.

I've been saying for a long time that Hodge is the key to the Hawks. Everyone talks about Buddy and yeah he is a star, but Hodge is your best player and he certainly stood up.

I know i and a lot of other supporters had the greatest respect for your club, and the players and the coach have commented both pre and post game about the respect they had for the Hawks, so i dont know what upset your applecart. Hi guys - It took me until today to login and face the BF world

Just wanted to offer my belated congratulations to the Hawthorn Footy Club and those associated with it.

You guys were simply harder and more determined to win on Sat. and fully deserved the 2008 premiership.

As I often mentioned to people leading in to the Granny, it isn't about the best team during the year but rather the best team on the day and clearly that was Hawthorn.

During the speeches it was mentioned that Geelong had been used as something of a template leading up to the Hawk win.

I'm now hoping Geelong look at the 2008 GF and learns a few things from the Hawks.

Grand Finals aren't given away, they are earned.

Respect & Well played.
