Well done FFC for breaking new ground and having two new member elected directors join the Board. And best wishes to Les Everett and Dave Garic who I'm sure will add some new and fresh ideas and enthusiasm.

Definitely be interesting listening to the language exchanged at the boadroom table :D looking for consensus on sensitive issues.

Well done Fremantle, a giant step in bringing the club to the people.

Hey Dasler you seem to have a good grip on what's happening in footy, do you think your mob down Leederville way should head towards some elected board members?.

Most Eagles members I have spoken to are happy with their board and can't see the benefit of having any elected boarded members.

I'll quickly state that part of the reason is that the Eagles have been cruising along for the last 10+ years with the engine ticking over nicely (adminstratively). Freo was thumped at birth and had boards with little solidarity, it is only in the last two years that the board has pulled together and the members feel they have want to "feel" they've had a say in running the club.

Anyway Das, as of 2005 you won't be travelling up Leederville way and will be permanently positioned in the Bulldogs bar. You will experience a bright future, post Slappa.

He's just having a hissy fit like we have become accustomed to from Slappa.

He thinks more of those players in red and white should have been drafted, maybe he's right, but life goes on.

I think he will reconsider his position by mid season next year, when Souths have only 2 wins, Eagles whole full back line is on the injured list with sore necks, and Slappa is leading the goalkicking for Souths. He will realise where to get a life.

You're welcome anytime Dasler, but leave Chris_Judd ............ look just leave him behind.

Not a chance in hell with the Eagles Corporate Machine masai. They would never allow the "common folk" to sit on the board with them.

Bit disappointing but then again, that's the culture the Eagles have created for themselves, who are we to question that?

Think it's absolutely great what Fremantle are doing off-field, a real big step in the right direction for football as a whole.

Thanks Das, I just thought the Eagles members would want a "say". I was just amazed that they didn't want a say. Oh well if it aint broke don't alter it seems to be the attitude, fair enough if that's the concensus.

You've got a great sense of fair play and obvious just love to watch a good footy game, but calling the Eagles "a corporate machine", could see you walking the plank if Trevor Nessy hears about your traitorous comments!!.

With sporting clubs or corporations for that matter, a good shake up every so often is beneficial for that entity. The comfort zone feels nice, but are you going anywhere when your in a comfort zone.

I'm ambivalent on the issue. I'd like to see some member's representatives at the Eagles, but not at the cost of upsetting the apple cart. After all the board have got the club ticking along quite nicely. Plus we don't get all that off-field bull**** that the Vic clubs have when the board goes to war with itself (it might do that, but it keeps it in house where it should be).

I think something needed to be done at Freo with the regular board meltdowns, and trying member representatives can't make anything worse than its been in the past. It will be interesting to see how much influence the members reps actually have though.
