Well done FFC for breaking new ground and having two new member elected directors join the Board. And best wishes to Les Everett and Dave Garic who I'm sure will add some new and fresh ideas and enthusiasm.

Well done Fremantle, a giant step in bringing the club to the people.

Anyway Das, as of 2005 you won't be travelling up Leederville way and will be permanently positioned in the Bulldogs bar. You will experience a bright future, post Slappa.

Not a chance in hell with the Eagles Corporate Machine masai. They would never allow the "common folk" to sit on the board with them.Originally posted by masai
Hey Dasler you seem to have a good grip on what's happening in footy, do you think your mob down Leederville way should head towards some elected board members?.
Most Eagles members I have spoken to are happy with their board and can't see the benefit of having any elected boarded members.
I'll quickly state that part of the reason is that the Eagles have been cruising along for the last 10+ years with the engine ticking over nicely (adminstratively). Freo was thumped at birth and had boards with little solidarity, it is only in the last two years that the board has pulled together and the members feel they have want to "feel" they've had a say in running the club.

Bit disappointing but then again, that's the culture the Eagles have created for themselves, who are we to question that?
Think it's absolutely great what Fremantle are doing off-field, a real big step in the right direction for football as a whole.
