[Pessimistic]

I'd like to say that on the whole, Hawks have had a terrific year. One thing, however, sticks out. For two years now wev'e left the finals in games we should have won. The other team taking their chances better than us. Yet on the whole Hawks are an accurate team when kicking for goal.

I thought at times on saturday the avenues from midfield to forwards and the forwards leading was not what it could have been. At times we did not press home our height advantage, having a forward line of Chick and Barlow.

In contrast the Box Hill performance in that area was sensational in their GF. Great midfield work and pinpoint passes to leading forwards. I noticed earlir in the year some BHH guys doing the same thing when elevated to the senoirs (chance bateman and boffa I think)

Should they be making more use of Donald McDonalds skills ? Perhaps if Chris Connoly moves on Donald could switch and get a new coach at BHH ?

Im a huge wrap for DmCdonald, and he could step into Connolly shoes easily, however a bit of a harsh call re Saturday.... i think our forward structure was thrown into chaos in the second quarter when both Dixon and Barker left the field injured... our disposal into our forward line wasnt a high rating in this quarter, but once we rejigged at halftime it worked better, i think Schwabby and the team did a fine job in difficult circumstances, only different thing i would have done is kept Johnny Hay in the middle of the action in the last quarter instead of following an injured James Hird into the pocket and out of harms way........ bring on next year!!!

And I would have tried to keep Thommo at FF all day ! I don't think essendon can effectively man him up.

I wasn't trying to be harsh, just looking where the improvment can come from. Many people are talking trades but I think we can do much better with what we have now.
