I explored all throughout, whenever I got a chance to. It's obvious the spots you can and can't go to, so it's never not worth the time to explore and dig into the little hidden areas.

I don't remember there being never ending enemy streams though, that does sound like a bug.
I had that happen to me. I think it's a bug. Lucky the combat is fun, I think I spent 25 minutes there till I decided enough was enough. From memory the challenges are suppose to be 15 minutes.

When I head back to those areas the enemies don't seem to respawn. It's only when I've completed a timed mission. I'm starting to wonder if it is because I had active countermeasures tracking and it was giving me enemies to pew pew. I've stopped taking the timed missions anyway for the time being. They tend to pop at the most inconvenient times and I'm already swimming in upgrade materials and prime mods. I'll take them again once absolute quality mods start dropping more regularly.

Since getting

Levitate

The entire game feels like it has opened up. Finally got chunky side missions to churn through and I feel like I have far more freedom. It took a while but it's really starting to shine now.

The unsettling feeling still hasn't worn off as the story is like an onion with so many layers. I'm actually hooked on the videos, they remind me of the Dharma initiative stuff from Lost before that show completely lost the plot.

Yep,
The vibe of the whole game is unreal. I love the area name pop onto the screen when you go to a new one. Still right up there in GOTY for me even with the last batch of AAA's.

Played about 4 hours today, Seriously cool and original story and builds tension better than most games. Just a breath of fresh air really.
So different to most other games, it doesn’t feel like there’s really any filler. Which is nice because I’m pretty sick of fetch quests to stretch out games.
Feel like it could make a very cool tv series.

It's easy to burn through the game without paying much attention, but stopping to read some of the notes and to watch the videos is a must if you want to really immerse yourself in it.

I think the story DLC is out any day now? Can't wait. One of the more interesting games I've played in a long time.

Yep, it’s called the X Files

Let us know how The Foundation DLC is. I've been keen to get it for a while but I'm just too bogged down with too many other games at the moment.
Yeah it’s really good, more of the same really. Fleshes out a few characters which is nice. Gonna go for the platinum now

How is it action wise? I did read it was bit more filler than anything else. I don't mind though, I loved the world it is in and spent ages just wandering around and looking for things to learn about and actually found some of the random encounters annoying when all I wanted to do was explore.

Yeah the action was good, the new enemy types are a lot more aggressive so they took some getting used to. Some good boss battles and a cool side mission that is a lot different to anything else in the game.

Sometimes it's easy to just skim over collectables but in this one it's really worth reading/watching them IMO. Very X-Filesy and the videos remind me of the Dharma Initiative stuff from Lost.
You had me at X-Files and lost me at Lost! (No pun intended)

That show went from interesting to complete garbage real quick.

Not saying the game is like Lost, but the videos in the game are done similar to the way the ones in Lost were. They're done in that 60s sciencey way with a bit of mystery. You'll see what I mean.

For more info it's in the same universe as Alan Wake so there are several references to that in the collectables. Unfortunately Microsoft retain the rights to Quantum Break so that's not connected.

Even a second time through I'm still reading every document I pick up. I like how many of them reference stuff in the game and flesh the world out more. I absolutely love the world design, the mystery, the setting and the atmosphere. At its heart it's really just another third person action game but the whole package is why it's easily one of my favourite games of the last few years.
