I want to pick up Cooney. Could dump either Moss or Travis Tuck for him, both are equally priced. Not sure which one to drop... who has more room to improve?

I have Moss and while I guess he could rise a bit more (it only takes one big score to get that price moving again!), I have to say it's a bit worrying that he has played more of a tagging role these last two games. I also think his stats might be affected more than Tuck by Hawthorn getting some guys back. So I think I would ditch Moss first.

Hard to say. Tuck doesn't seem fully fit and Moss is often given tagging jobs. Probably Tuck but Moss might be a better long-term bench player.

Just on Cooney...while it looks like he has bottomed out, I think people can still afford to wait a week on him if there are other areas of your team that need urgent attention as well. His BE is still around 85 and he will likely easily surpass that, but even if he gets around 120 or so against Melbourne, he will still only go up by about $15k, which isn't really that much. His bigger price rise would come the week after.

The advantage of waiting a week as well is that you would ideally like to see him back up his great game last week to confirm that he's back and the guy you are trading out for him (Moss, Rich or whoever) may have a big score next week and rise in price as well, offsetting any rise in Cooney's price.

that makes way too much sense for around here!

I agree with your thinking there, Rhino.

The only issue is maybe all you have is exposed form against Melbourne, which may not be worth all that much.

I think Power is a better bargain this week, with Cooney someone to look at next week.

His 2 games after that are against Sydney and Geelong. Cooney has a shocking record against these two teams mainly thanks to Kirk and Ling. That's where the test will be to see how he is traveling. If he posts 90ish against these teams then he is likely back to last years form.

Yes his last couple games against Geelong and Sydney have been only average at best, but at about Rd7 last year v Sydney at the SCG he had 20 odd touches and kicked 5 goals.

So its not completely beyond him to score well against them. Haven't seen him yet replicate that kinda stuff against Geelong though and unlikely to this year either with there midfield.
