Must be dropped this week. Murdoch is way ahead of him at this stage.

I'm not sure he's going to make it as a midfielder. If he isn't a gun forward, then I'd be reevaluating his list position.

Still early days, he might prove me wrong.

he aint quick enough or a good rover of packs to be a good forward pocket. i think its midfield or bust with gregson.

I will reserve any judgement on Gregson till next year. The guy was one of our most promising kids until he missed 18 months or so. It will take time for him to find his feet (no pun intended).

way to misinterpret. Im talking about mid vs forward. Not saying he will make it.

Geez some of you are writting him off extremely early. He hasn't played in 18 months, it will take time to get back into form. In saying that the MC should know this also, and shouldn't have thrown him straight back into the seniors. But they are desperate for forward pressure so rolled the dice.

Wasn't even strength or anything was just too hard so he went down.

Ridiculous if he stays in, 2x11 possessions so far, just over powered when it matter most in that last quarter.
Rather play Murdoch (24 disposals), Constable or Cunico all in very good form.
Doesn't add anything to the team at present.

This might sound a bit stupid after Mondays game but, Gregson is a far better kick than Smedts ever was... generally atleast.
Although that isn't really saying much.

Running all day is only helpful if you can hold your feet when the running stops. Gregson, is admittedly in need of a few games, so am prepared to give him more time, but he has to be able to stay in a contest.

Gregson has a lot to offer but clearly he's missed a lot of footy and needs to find touch over a few weeks in the VFL before we consider him for the 1's.
Skills are solid as is his running ability - he provided some speed and linking ability in his first season both by hand and foot. Has to be a pressure forward in this team as we have an abundance of mids to rotate , his tackling is very good and he's handy around goal so that's his role IMO.
Wish the young fella luck - seems like a good kid

i think some of the people who are writing him off were writing him off before he got injured. So its not a 2 game thing. I dont think he will make it as a good forward based off pre injury form. But i do think he has a bit of allen christensen about him in the packs where he can be incredibly composed and makes plenty of space for him self. Not as fast as christensen but has the poise and agility. He needs at least 6 games in the vfl playing as a mid.

The talent is in there just needs time to come out again.
The touch is missing and not surprisingly takes time to come back.

There will be ups and downs and id give him a little bit longer - but the VFL will also be good for him.

I think he's a bit of a victim of circumstance too - with so many rookies his poorer efforts aren'y being covered as the next bloke in line has played less than 20 games as well rather than a 220 game vet who can help the situation better.

Regardless, he needs to play better - and I reckon he will - but it might need some to VFL time to do it. Nothing wrong with that.

Bingo.

That game against St Kilda - his last before he was dropped and got injured - was terrible. Missed a crucial set shot from 25m out dead in front, put another on the full and was generally awful for the whole game. Not all guys make it and sometimes bait needs to be cut early so that new options can be tried.

I'll get shot for this but I really liked his round one game.
He was one who set a bar for intent in chasing the opponent. Flat stick running with pure intent to get the opponent. Not just look like he was trying to get him.

I'm sick and tired of standing off the man and guarding space. Gregson was not doing it.

If he makes it it will be as a poor man's version of a Stokes-esque linkman.

It’s intwresting that people do straight to worst case scenarios. Just needs some time to build, but on current form, with others pushing why shouldn’t that be at reserve level? They’re doing it for Scott Selwood.
