What a bunch of crap that is! Got Spring outdoor swimming lessons starting for my kids this weekend actually. Looking forward to it.

The ludicrous bit is that we have weekend swimming lessons at the same pool with way more kids than the school groups will have, no limits on parents attending and no restrictions on changerooms.

When I was diagnosed with COVID-19 in August last year, it made me think about my own mortality for the first time. I could have died.

My main symptoms were chest pains and nausea and my wife had a really bad sore throat for a couple of weeks. It’s so different in everyone but it took us both a few weeks to recover.

Before I got COVID and the first lockdown happened in Melbourne, I was running 5km or 10km to get out of the house and keep active.

As soon as the did a double blind study they came up with 10% at best.

I can not recall the vaccine but he did also say there was a vaccine a while ago that resulted in 50 deaths and it was withdrawn as too great a risk.

Giving this vaccine to children would be madness IMO, let their developing immune system do it's job.... it's doing a fantastic job right now in combatting Covid.

60% fully vaccinated and one third of active COIVD cases are fully vaccinated people.

The sharp increase in COVID cases occured after COVID injections began on Jan 9th 2021. The number of active cases rose from 612 on April 28th to 1068 on May 2 and 28 deaths, according to the health ministry. Of those cases, just under two thirds are unvaccinated or only had one injection and the rest have had two doses.

A neighbour and friend is a doctor who runs the Coronavirus ward at Hadassah hospital. He says he has only 2 Covid patients left! Like other hospitals, Hadassah has closed its Covid ICU. It is so extraordinary, and so different from the situation before the vaccination campaign, with endless lockdowns, illness and death that I can't quite take it in.
It is also interesting to see how herd immunity has kicked in and is protecting the vaccinated and the non-vaccinated alike. Israel has completed the protocol - 2 shots plus 1 week - for more than 80% of people aged over 16, which is about 60% of the total population - and that's enough! Another factor has been tighter border controls, but if you're reading this in Australia - go out and get vaccinated. And make our lackadaisical complacent government get its vaccination campaign going. It changes everything.
UPDATE: I am now planning a summer holiday in Europe, as the EU today announced it will open its borders to me because I've been vaccinated. I can't describe the feeling. It changes everything, EVERYTHING.
