According to this sounds like Tigers are going with Cotchin.

As for the NAB AFL National Draft later this month, Wallace said Richmond would consider drafting Western Australian youngster Cale Morton – which would reunite the three brothers in Tigers colours (??????) – however not at the expense of getting the best talent on offer
“We’ve got selection two, we don’t know what Carlton will do … we’ll sit back, let them make their decision and take the next-best player available,” he said.
“I think, always when you’re talking about your first selection, you can’t be position-specific.
“If the right bloke’s there that you want for a certain position, well we’ll go after him, but if the best player in the nation is there and you’re after something else, then I don’t think you’re going to go for the 10th-best player.”

I read that as though if Carlton pick Cotchin then we will select Kreuzer over Morton.

So basically we'll pick Morton unless Kreuzer slips (best available).

Yer I read it the same way as Benny.

If Carlton take Cotchin, we'll take Kruezer (best available), if they take Kruezer, we'll take Morton

Interesting...I see him as saying..

'we'll take who we think is the better of the 2 players left after Carlton have chosen.' Regardless of possible positions that player might play.'

So depending on who The Tankers take at pick 1, that could be anyone of Kruezer, Cotchin or Morton. So we won't know until the day and the Tiger guy stands up from behind his little table and says '............

Fill in what you like there, but it will all be speculation until 'the day!'

well of course we would take kreuzer if he slipped, but i saw him saying that we would take cotchin at 2 as he is the better player regardless of what we need.

but 3 mortons

imagine if they all were hopeless for the club.

You cant read anything into it, I dont think.

If I had to read into it, given you guys have afew flankers, I'd infer that Wallace wouldnt have a problem with getting another one like Morton if he was the best available. Morton isnt exactly what you 'need' is he.

exactly how I see it...I sense that we see Morton as a potential KPP

I pefer we pick up Morton. At 192cm and 80kg, he could be 193-194cm and 83kg by the time he plays his first match which I think is too big to be playing as a flanker or wing so we will develop him as a KPP. When he starts (preferable rounds 5-10) I would like to see him play of the HBF and wing. And then in a couple of years time when he is 193cm and 90kg, move him to the 3rd tall rebounding back or CHF

He has a good leap and very good pace which are vital

With Thurstfield (191cm), McGuane (191cm), Polak (194cm) + Moore (189cm), Bowden (188cm) and potentially Morton(192cm) PLUS whoever wit gives us alot more tall options in the back half mean we can play Bowden loose and swap Morton and Polak between the back and foward lines akin to Adam Hunter

I don't read a darn thing into it, except that since Mitch Morton said in the media he was going to join his brother at Richmond, we've publicly stated that we haven't decided - like every club that doesn't have pick one and even some that do.
Really? Cos I heard him say he didn't know where Cale would be and that if cale was at richmond he might take mitch's spot.

I reckon you should go for Morton. In future years imo he will be a better player then Cotchin.

1. Carlton - Kreuzer
2. Richmond - Morton
3. West Coast - Cotchin
4. Melbourne - Palmer
5. Western Bulldogs - McEvoy
6. Essendon - Masten
7. Fremantle - Myers
8. Brisbane - Ebert
9. St.Kilda - Rioli

Jarryd Morton is on the Hawks list. How the hell is that going to occur?

have thought this all along, no-one seems to have picked up on it though, or rather no-one knows the answer.

Maybe its a typo and was supposed to say 2 instead of 3?

Maybe something else in in the wings. If we pick Cale will Jarryd nominate for the PSD???

whats with that statement...
