I watched the 1st qrt this morning if that doesnt give every Richmond fan a chubby then you are officially dead. The block and receive from Richo was sublime.

When Foley handballed over his head and Cotchin ran at it doing a blind turn as he gathered the ball then broke through traffic brought tears to my eyes. The commentaters just moaned in amazement as he moves.

I remember watching Deledio in his first year do some nice tricks and run like the wind but Cotchin is a "A" class top shelf player who will be very special for us. Deledio, Foley and Cotchin are going to dominate games in the coming years.

With you on this one tiger...Cotchin will be a special player. As long as he holds up, he will be one of the elite players. What he is doing with no pre-season is unbelievable and I can't wait for next year to come around. Players like Lids and Richo are athletes who can play footy but Cotchin is a footballer who is also an athlete. Would never compare him to Judd who imo is a freak and the best going around but look out for Cotch with a pre-season under his belt. Wont be as dynamic athletically but footy wise...giddy up!!!

Just think if we had of beaten the saints last season you could have had potentially Picks 1 and 2 plus the first pick in the PSD.... Kruezer, Citchin and JUdd for free (Judd said however that he wanted WC to be compensated)...

Lucky we lost against the Saints...... or should have we won and instilled a winning Culture???

Talls are overrated. Midfielders make forwards/defenders good or bad. If the midfield is shit then a forward can't kick goals and the defenders will find it harder to defend.


Why do you think we went with Deledio/Tambling instead of Roughead/Franklin? We were in desperate need of midfielders.

Look at Lynch and Hanson's seasons now that they dont have the best Midfield feeding them. Look how much better Fev looks. Look at Llyod... the list goes on.

There are only a few forwards in the History of the game that can still perform week in week out without a top Midfield. Richo is one.. Lockett etc...

Look at Geelong and it's early Draft selections since Thompson took over... thats right midfielders all around 185 cm.
In todays game you need 15-17 midfielders in your side.

Yep I remember, that game was the tank of the year. any club in the same possie would have done the same, look at what you got for tanking(Cotch). Just shows tanking does pay off. Carlton know all about it. The Gibbs Cup and the Kreuzer cup. Until the system changes clubs will always do whats best for its future, .
