Still very early but after the Richmond intraclub today, this was posted:

-Cogs I thought struggled to get into it. He's lost weight and is about the same build as Polo these days. Didn't do a lot of his renowned clearance work but got a few handball receives and his kicking was typically neat. Still a big question mark unfortunately.

-coughlan didnt even notice him playing to be honest long way to go

-MARK COUGHLAN - played in the centre square all day and took a while to warm up but did some nice work in close as the game wore on. Looks a bit rusty but got through OK (at least until I left)

Makes you worry if he's gonna be a wise choice with what is gonna be a pretty jam packed midfield.

Other key notes: Cuz apparently had a great game. 12 possies in 2nd qtr. Raines gave a very impressive performance as well.

Just some food for thought :D

I also read that. Hopefully he gets a chance to prove himself, which im sure he will get the opportunity to in the NAB games. I havent given up hope, though its not a positive sign.

Anyone who expects Coughlan to fire in the first intra-club match of the year doesn't really have much clue at all.

He is nothing but a handy cash cow at his price, and I would think an average in the high 70's would be seen as a huge win by anyone who picks him up.

Fair point, so by that rationale you'd be best to pick up a rookie instead, bank the change and upgrade elsewhere? I'm not entirely convinced he'll get a game..

It's a 50/50 call. I think in DT he's a lock because of the much tighter salary cap, and most people will have more than enough rookies as it is.

In SC, where you have a little bit more to spend I think a case could easily be argued for and against.

Personally, if he shows anything decent in the pre-season I'll be getting on and hoping for the best.

Edit: I wonder what sort of panic it would create if he is not named Rd 1?

Though you can't see me, I'm making the *winky winky* motion...

However, if he averages 100, as he did in 05, you'll have such egg on your face! :D
