Richmond is yet to open contract negotiations with two of its blue-chip players, Mark Coughlan and Brad Ottens.
Tigers director of football Greg Miller last night said negotiations might begin soon but he was confident the club would retain the pair despite the strong lure both would have to return to their home states.
He said neither had expressed a desire to leave Punt Rd.
"For a player to move club there has to be a solid reason," Miller said.
"Most players don't want to talk about it until the end of the season."
South Australian Ottens, the league's leading tap ruckman, would be a perfect fit for both Adelaide and Port Adelaide.
West Australian Coughlan, the reigning club champion, is expected to be chased by West Coast and Fremantle.
