not as bad as it could have been today. it was tough to watch, but at least the boys were trying from start to finish. in that respect, I don't feel ripped off or devestated. i'm sure the fellas are feeling terrible, but they should have some pride in that they did the minimum that you can ask for, they put in a legitimate effort right to the last seconds of the game.

Ian Prendeghast had a reasonable game. made some good decisions in the first half and used the ball well at times. took some risks, ran with the ball, keep at it Ian.

looking forward to pagans comments, hope he can see the positives, though he will probably be defensive in the circumstances.

Thought Prenda played pretty well today. Looks like a different player than last year. Seems to have some confidence in his ability to run and carry the ball.

Our turnovers killed us again today. Probably gave the Crows 4-5 goals and cost us about the same. I just can't believe how often we miss targets.

I haven't seen any of the game unfortunately.

But from what I've heard the effort was there, skills were a let down.

Prenda may have got a few cheap stats, but did anyone see his shot for goal early in the 3rd quarter. Seriously the worst player ever to where navy blue and thats pretty bad since we also have De Luca.

Our clubs going nowhere until those two are kick out, to start with.

I went to the game today and was actually impressed with a lot of the effort, but as people have said much of the skills were disgraceful. Mind you it did get better. A few general thoughts of the game.

1 We turned up 10 min late.
2. French rucked well and stopped that initial onslaught.
3. Great game by McGrath.
4. Wiggins actaully impressed at times.
5. Fev has great hands but did a few stupid things.
6. Stevens doesn't look right. One stage after we turned it over and they kicked a goal he was watching the screen at the stuffup.
7. We really need to get a backline! We need players like MCleod and Johncock who not only shut down their opponents but provide skillful run.

There were some good signs but we really need an injection of talent, which is coming.

Agree with your comments. McGrath deserves a pat on the back for his job on Ricciuto. Fev didn't seem quite on today. No tantrums, but not quite the same effort as we have seen so far this season. McLeod and Johncock were just sensational off HB. We really should be developing Russell for that type of role and perhaps Carazzo. The biggest positive on the day was the continued progress of Murphy, Bentick and Walker. 71 disposals between them and although 1AW turned it over a few times, he is at least finding plenty of the ball and his disposal will improve with time.

Jesus wept,
was there and seen it all,

Spanked from pillar to post,
used as circle work,
wind blew a howler.

Bloke wearing 5 spent more time running the bench,
than the other usual suspects,

Mcgrath did well on Roo,
rest was junk stats,
seriously,
no one got dirty.

Sorry guys, seen it first hand.

The backline has done a good job this year it is the midfield that is costing us games, when the ball comes into there forward line from midfielders under no pressure our defence has no hope and no defence would have a chance against that, and Mcleod and Johncock got so much of it because Pagan plays the half forwards so far up the ground that they didn't have opponents, in the games we have got close our disposal has been good in the games we have been smashed it has been crap, if we learn to kick and handball we will win some games, simple as that.

I still dont get why they persist in kicking short to a contest? Lappo had a good game at least(he was due)

Agree with that. As much as i hate to say it, I agreed with Chris McDermott. When we played some attacking footy and moved the ball on quickly in the second qtr, we actually got some reward from our attack.

And then what do we do after half time, we play as defensive as we did in the first quarter, put Lance back to CHB and got smashed after half time.

IMO, we need to do what Danny Frawley said on MMM a week or so ago. We need to go out and attack from the first bounce and if we get beaten by 15 goals, so be it. This short chipping game is not working as we miss targets way too often and it puts undue pressure on the kids we are trying to develop.

At least this time we didn't look terrible for parts of the game. We just can't afford these kinds of starts where we look like we've got no idea what's going on.

I can't understand why after we had started playing some flowing, attacking footy and reaped the rewards in the second quarter we just went back to the old static chip it to a contest and hope for the best game. On the positive side Lappin finally had a good game and Wiggins looks like he's earning a spot.
