I was wondering, is it possible that 1997 could re-surface again, can you imagine the Crows playing the Bullies in the preliminary final, how nervous would those
Victorians be feeling if we were to beat the dogs again and than play St. Kilda for the big one.

Wouldn't be fantastic to here another cd that sounds something like this..... NOT THE CROWS AGAIN PLEASE DON'T LET THEM WIN THE FLAG AGAIN...........

Could we do it .....thoughts

Lightening doesnt strike twice, lets not compare now with 1997 completely different team, senerio's etc to consider, lets get past Essendon first then start beating our chests:thumbsu:

Agreed TW! Of course anything is possible, but we all know all too well that looking too far ahead can burn bad. I only hope that all the team are concentrating on THIS week's game because that's where we need their energies right now!

Let’s get past Essendon first. We still have those demons to face before worrying about anything else.

St Kilda 1st = 4th premiers

enjoy it COllingwood fans, just dont be as arogent as Hawthorn fans

but im still hoping for:

Adelaide d Essendon
Bulldogs d Geelong
Brisbane d Carlton
St kilda d Collingwood

Adelaide d Collingwood
Brisbane d Geelong

Adelaide d Bulldogs
St Kilda d Brisbane

Adelaide d St Kilda

but I do know that is highly unlikely

Is this Day jah voo or what?

Perhaps I should move back to Adelaide ,grow my hair long and loose 20 kilos.
I remember screaming at the TV (GF 97) that I wanted to have Bunjey`s baby!
I nearly turned that day.

I`m probably past it now.

This year feels the same from memory, time will tell.If Macca wins another Norm Smith my offer is still open.

It always pans out differently from each generation of players to the next, but I guess we all see the 'coming from the clouds' route as Adelaide's MO rather than a 20-2 season followed by 2 finals and a GF win, altho' that would be nice and a lot less stressful ;)

first things first, after the last to EF's, I just want to win one.

deffinitly our best list and most prepaird final seriers in the last few years. I only hope history "can" repeat itself.

Crows 09!

im just wondering if you guys believe that something that happened in 97/98 could have an effect on the Adelaide players??? i know goody, macca and tedwards were playing, but i dont think it has too much effect, i dont they think about it too much....but boy would i laugh if it was deva ju, probably celebrate as well, since my beverages have changed from fruit boxes to beer :D

Those fruit boxes can send kids pretty crazy with all that sugar! Don't under estimate them!

Looking at our list, current game plan, belief in the group, I really believe we could be a shot this year. We are almost prime. Old guys contributing perfectly, young guns coming through and the middle aged guys are in peak form.

We are almost set up for a decent run during the finals, we are hitting our straps at the right time of the year, St Kilda and Geelong looking beatable... The stars are aligning!

09 the year of the Crow? We can only hope! YOOOOOOOOOU CROOOOOOOOOWWS!

Insert one S Ellen and one D Jarman here!

Hopefully.

Even if not - it's quite cool to hear peoples different stories from 11-12 years ago.

1997 we had my entire U/8 basketball team and families around. Parents going bonkers in one room, kids going mental in the other.

1998 I remember being at my uncles house - and going out and kicking the footy with older cousins and complete strangers joining in with wild celebrations.

As fun as it was, I don't really remember 97/98 too clearly apart from small parts of it - I don't think you can really, truely appreciate as much at ages 7 and 8, as you can when your support has grown over the years, to the point of being obsessive!! :D

Would be nice to experience this year. I'd probably break down in tears of joy/laughter I think!

In a very short sentence........yes it could. And can. This time around you have an even more younger and talented squad.

If i were the Bulldogs or the Saints, i'd be looking over my collective shoulder at you lot. Hate to say it, but. SMOKEYS.

Exactly! It hurts a LOT more to lose when you're already looking to next week. Let's focus on firing up for this week's game.

1998 was an interesting one LOL: just as the players were running out onto the field, the power went off. Being grand final day and with an SA team playing, all the ETSA workers were at the pub, so we raced down to the Birdwood pub (then owned by Ken Sheldon) and watched it there. It was an awesome experience but my sinuses were clogged with cigarette smoke for days (I was 11 and had hardly ever been in a pub before). Our power didn't come back on until about 8:30 that night.

Just on Ken Sheldon, he was actually pretty cool. He bribed us all with free footys if we learned to kick with our opposite foot. His son Sam on the other hand was the biggest tosser I ever had as a team mate (and I subsequently changed teams because of him). He didn't like Darren Pfeiffer being the best in the team (Under 12s) and used to pick fights with team mates if they made a mistake. I had some good punch ups with him both as a team mate and as an opponent.
