Hip needs a bit of surgery to clean it out, so it says on the official site. Not great news - hopefully it gets rid of the pain

JOHNS SIDELINED FOR SIX WEEKS
Monday, 9 February 2004
Courtney Johns will recommence full training in six weeks. Johns returned to Perth last week to consult surgeons about an ongoing hip injury. Football Dominic Cato said that after surgeons assessed a MRI scan surgery was performed on the hip area. "The surgeon reported that the operation was successful, which is great news for Courtney. A loose bit of cartilage was removed from hip area that wasn’t detected in MRI scan, which was the cause of pain," Cato said.
Before returning to Perth last week there was concern that the pain Johns was experiencing may have been related to a previous hip injury. Cato said that the surgeon has confirmed that the cartilage is not related to the old injury. Johns will stay in Perth with his family for next two weeks before returning to Melbourne.
