Interesting doco on the effect cows and the livestock industry in general is having on climate change.

If all true as presented then we are either all stuffed or must immediately become vegans.

Corporations suppressing information for their agendas is nothing new. Been happening for centuries. Don't let that surprise you. I also believe in the deaths mentioned of the environmentalists and lobbyists, hence the silence.

I watched this when it was released and I found the breakdown of some of the stats extraordinary. Here are some of the key stats for anyone who hasn't invested time in watching this yet.

Incredibly concerning and there wouldn't be any bull about it. I'd question how they came up with some of the numbers, but the reactions from Green Peace, Oceana and other various corporations clearly expose through their silence how dire the situation is.

well i disagree we'd all have to become vegans, there was a report years ago warning about the need to switch to less carbon emitting food sources this isn't anything new.

this is not a big focus because it's simply an area that is a bridge too far, economically, look at the amount of jobs that have been wiped out in the last 3 years from mining and manufacturing and are predicted to be lost in another 3 years.

there is not a developed or developing country in the world where industrialised farming does not make up a significant portion of the country's economy.

the ramifications are massive, your talking about billions wiped from economies around the world, millions of people out of jobs. this is per country. nobody is going to vote for it. no one in rural areas are going to vote to remove the most stable industry in their area, you're not going to get people in the cities to vote for rural communities to be essentially shut down and relocated to overpopulated cities. (which is the only way you're going to find the employment levels you need.)

in australia alone your talking about $17 billion and over a million people directly employed by the industry, from those working in stations, to transport all the way down to butchers.

eliminating it is not a plausible.

fishing issue already have a solution farming fish, it eliminates bio kill, we can ensure fish stocks are sustainable we can speed up growth, its cleaner, its cheaper and the product is fresher.

and yet no one has the balls to touch the commercial fishing industry an industry which contributes a poultry $4 billion and around 300,000 directly employed.

But on ocean run off i find it a bit odd that the video doesn't make it clear that the largest contributor to ocean run specifically comes from just two sources.

Sugar cane and rice farms. with cotton and soy coming in not far behind. it seems the video focused solely on meat issues and not the issues that come from other forms agriculture. i suggest the video is itself guilty of selective reporting on the whole issue of agriculture's contribution to global warming.

The agricultural industry has a lot to answer for worldwide.

I refuse to believe those are real cows in the film, I've seen how those phoney Hollywood types do it
