Yes that full-on week where things go crazy and so many twists and turns come about. Trade week....it is mental every year and for the blues especially in 2010 anticipating a real roller-coaster and busy times. A number of players seem to be looking for a change so plenty of wheeling and dealing required. What do you think may happen with us? Names you would like? Players we'll probably end up with?
I feel we need to take a collingwood approach to really try and establish our team. They knew they needed a ruckmen and that extra grunt and physicality in the midfield. They addressed their needs and it pains me to say it....they conquered the competition. I feel we need to be really ruthless and be prepared to make that move if its going to aid us.....these apparent departures may work in our favour, allowing us to reshape our team to create our real platform. We have a lot of class, now we just need to finish the jigsaw that we can use to keep building, developing to give us the ultimate chance of future successes.
I had a possible three-way trade we could've completed in hindsight involving Adelaide and Gold Coast.
Jacobs to adelaide, bock to gold coast with gold coast compensating us for Jacobs and giving up something for landing quality like Bock. Filled in with various picks here and there and it could've been a deal.
