There was a good point made by Healy during the game and he indicated that Clarke is looking for the body of his opponent too much and not going for the ball. The same was said about J.Riewoldt over the early part of the season until friday night, all of a sudden he was a different player.

Zac needs to go get the ball at all costs and bugger the opposition bodies flying in, needs to learn to throw himself at it.

You should have seen him at the Hawks game, really soft. He didn't want to apply much physical pressure and gave up extremely easy. In other games you see a lot of the same thing.

It is quite strange because against the Crows when he was just "near them" they really shat their pants like this guy was going to murder them. He has a good physical presence but is failing to utilize it.

Someone needs to poke him with some burning sticks and then let him off the leash to get him a bit violent, something is holding him back.

Must admit I shuddered whenever the ball went to Crichton. He fumbled at crucial times.

His skills would need to improve markedly for him to make it as an AFL footballer.

Pretty much made the usual BF clowns who bag players for their pace look stupid.

Couple of skill errors came down to not being used to the pace of the game I think, but happy with his game.

Thought he was okay and improved as the game went on. The errors he made (most of them early) were stock standard from when he has been given chances at other stages. Needs to iron those out if he is going to make a career of it.

No, no, no Plugga, you're looking at it the wrong way. The kid was having a crack and trying to take the game on. It's not always going to work out, especially against a midfield like the Crows. In actual fact the amount of times that he was put under presure by teammates giving off to him when he was under the pump happened more than the other way around. It'd be interesting to know if you were at the game or watch it on telly? At the ground it was obvious on a few occasions that he was our only outside option at a few scrimages so when the ball came out to him the Crows picked him off far too easily because he was the only option.

I was at the game....couldn't believe the dumb 1/2 metre handballs he gave off sometimes to pllayers under pressure or on the wrong foot. Eg...the handball to Stephen Hill on his wrong side at the 50metre mark when he was on the right of him was just plain dumb.

He was trying I guess to get free...& make some dashes....maybe I'm being too harsh....I can see him being torn a new on though at the MCG under pressure.

Yeah, the old 1/2 metre handpass has been, and still is, a trademark of Freo over the last few years. Very frustrating.

You watch the top sides and they have a wave of players running from behind and out wide (3m) like in rugby until a player is in the clear.

Just watched the second half in replay, though Chrichton was better than I noticed on the day. Some great tackles and 1%. Don't think he's going to keep Morabito or Fyfe out of the team but he's decent depth and gave a creditable performance with great effort. If he can clean up his ball handling and decision making a little, perhaps this will come with more experience, he's got something to work with. Would be an unexpected bonus for mine if he makes it.

He's the sort of player you could see being dominant at WAFL level given a couple more years size and fitness work. As to an AFL career it's hard to say at this point.
