Never played cricket but that must be the sweetest way to get a wicket - beat the edge and the ball goes onto clip the top of off stump.

It was so hard to know so you have to give the batsman the benefit of the doubt and thats how it ended up. England very unlucky yesterday and got a bit of luck back today

imho a fair decision. I think it was out so close, but the doubt in this case had to favour the batsman.

I think when the ball doesn’t bounce up it should count.
Like the one from Starc a few years ago when he clean caught it but the ball rubbed on the ground after a bit and was called not out.

Snicko is REALLY weird this Test.
At least the Khawaja decision was given correctly not out - even if it was for the wrong reasons. I'm almost certain that the ball came off the gloves (before hitting the helmet), but it clearly bounced up into Khawaja's hands. It should have been given not out as a bump ball, regardless of what happened at the point where the ball passed the batsman.
Snicko spikes where the helmet are involved are usually short & sharp. The helmet is a hard object, so contact (and thus the sound of the impact) is usually short & clear. What we saw was a prolonged smudgy spike, which is typical of glove contact.

Nice to have an uncontroversial wicket decision for a change. Jacks absolutely smashed that one into his pads. Amazing keeping by Carey, standing up to the wicket with Bolland bowling at 136 kph.

All day long they've been pitching the ball up on a good length, and they've reaped the rewards. Then, as soon as Archer appears, they throw that plan out the window and start bowling poorly disciplined short rubbish - with Archer quite fairly carting them as a result. They've done it all series, as soon as he arrives at the wicket.

This is what happens when you abandon a bowling plan that has worked stunningly well, switching to bowling short garbage as soon as Archer arrives at the crease. By the time they actually decided to bowl properly again, both Stokes & Archer were well set.Archer is proving a pain in the behind again.
Right now I'm operating on the assumption that CA instructed Cummins to ensure that the game went into a 4th day. They need the gate receipts, particularly given the magnitude of the financial disaster when the Perth Test finished inside 2 days. CA has 2 big cash cows - Ashes series and Border-Gavaskar series. They make big losses whenever any other country tours. They need the Ashes Tests to go the distance.
If Cummins has been given marching orders, then that may explain the stupidity that happened in the last 90 minutes of play yesterday (and the ongoing stupidity this morning).

... Starc finally bowls a ball at the stumps and knocks over Stokes. Marvellous what happens when you bowl at the stumps, rather than 2 feet above them.
