What happened to Big Ant? It was all looking so promising at one stage.

Big bash in career mode is doing my ****ing head in.
Made myself an all rounder (as you do) so every bloody game I’m selected at 6 or 7 and never get to bat. All I seem to do is go from one game to the next watching load screens and coins tosses.
Infuriating

Even though they've made some games that turn out really good, they're always pretty rough on release.

Think back to AFL Live with that man on the mark smother exploit. Or Bradman 14 where bowler fatigue didn't work, so they'd only bowl at 120 km/hr after the first 2 overs, for the rest of the day.

I'd say that this one is having more issues than others though, particularly where some issues get fixed then un-fixed in patches (e.g. forward defensive shots bizarrely being taken out).

I think I'll defend Big Ant more than most on this board (or PlanetCricket) but this seems to be such a step down from the brilliant game that was Cricket 19, in every aspect except some cool new bowling animations. And I am in such a cricket mood right now and it's the first time for probably 6 months that I'll have a week of free time to play video games.

I'm finding it better than 19.

Needs some tweaking with the overthrows but definitely better.

I can see what they have done and honestly once these Xbox patches come through my view will change big time it’s just been frustrating to pay top dollar for a game that I can’t play normally as yet. Can’t download from the academy so stuck with using the base teams but can’t play forward defense shots and there is so many run outs per game.

How does this happen? If it passes PS and not Xbox (i get it would be different in a way). Does it fail because of more issues etc or is it an overall coding issue.

If you read twitter Ross tries to explain some form of testing issue that is different from here to UK or US. All I can say is why should that mean anything to anyone buying the product. They release a product , put it on store shelves and its completely stuffed still almost a month down the track.

It's a massive clusterfu**...
Sounds like Xbox is still unplayable which is disappointing. Not sure how they have stuffed this up so badly, Cricket 19 needed a few patches on release but was a pretty solid game. Feel like this was just rushed out to get it in time for the ashes.

Xbox patch will be released today apparently within a few hours!

Playing on PC.

I've spent 95% of my time playing as a batsman on career mode. So I can't comment too much about bowling.

Overall the game is good, because the fundamentals from the previous games are still there. Certainly it is miles ahead of the terrible AFL Evolution games.

But there is a pretty long list of small things that aren't good. Some of these things, I assume, will get fixed in patches - but some have been issues in the previous games as well.

If you liked the previous games, it is worth getting.

How are the major career mode changes from 19 to 22?

They have added in some completely pointless press conferences and (really short) cut scenes, other than that it is identical.

I don't know who's idea it was to introduce press conferences into sports games, but they are a complete waste of time. Even in good games like Football Manager the novelty wore off years ago.

Aren't there some annoying gym mini games too?

I'm enjoying it overall but never played cricket19 so not sure on the skills progression. Am I missing a trick on how to manually improve skills based on my level or does it just very slowly increase? I'm a few seasons in playing good cricket and still only risen a few overall to 75. Thanks

Training in the nets.
