What is going on with Croads wrist? Does anyone know exactly what the problem is?

This seems to be going on and on. Has this been poorly managed? Even a break you would think you would be back to 100% in 12 weeks or so.

I think there could be a more serious problem. Thoughts.........

Agreed. Apparently it's the same one as last year. So that would make it almost a year he's had that injury, which should have taken 12 weeks like you say. If this is the case, that's a massive worry for our only tall, big bodied experienced defender....

I think you guys will find that Trent has had this wrist problem for alot longer than 12 months and it is not an injury that he will get over he has to manage it properly but it will not be 100%.

Well that just SUCKS. Our backline's a huge worry.....

I Broke my Scaffoid and its one of the slowest bone to heal in the entire body...on half the bone has a blood supply and a graft is the best way to repair it but that requires 3 months in plaster and a years before it feels 100%

My man might be missed but only because of his bulk but there are a number of other options for CHB. Renouf played there last week and did a good job. Gilham or Murphy are likies. Birchell could do the job. Depending on who the oppositions FF is, that great player in the making ZAC is a very good prospect also.

These are just a few names to toss around.

I was interested in the comments of Danny Frawley during the game last week. He seemed pretty pleased with the way the backline played and particularly how they dealt with what he called the "high ball". From the way he spoke he implied, if he did not expressly state it that this was an identified major problem last last season which has been a focus over the summer. He seemed very pleased with the results.

Apart from the Neitz mark on his chest in front of ZAC and the speccy from Robbo, the backs worked well and spoilt and cleared with great efficiency. The Neitz mark would have beaten any full back. Robbo is going to take those in a game. Then there is the impact of an opposition running player has when he gets free and can deliver to a forward. Mostly the backman is powerless to stop the forward on the end of the pass coming in.

One thing which does not get too much credit in these posts is that the other sides have some pretty good players also and they will beat our blokes sometimes but when that happens we tend to blame our fella for his inadequacies. It's an unfortunate trait, me thinks.

The Rocca/ZAC game last year is a prize example. ZAC has been hounded ever since. But the fact is that OUR midfielders went home after half time and ALLOWED their opponents to spot up Rocca time after time. Give a bloke like Rocca that supply and he will murder any opponent. And who else did we have who could have played there on that day. No one is the simple answer.

Hear, Hear! Great Post.

It's a time of great promise for Hawk supporters but let's not fall for the Essendon trap of bagging out our players, ie. Tim Boyle. He is the type of bloke that we could have cut and been haunted for the next ten years. It may still happen but IMO Boyle is a bit of a rarity these days in the AFL - a genuine 75/25 contested marking option.

I hope its not RSI and lets hope he doesnt go blind and I would imagine the hairy palms would make marking more difficult.
Hes a newly married man his wrist will be fine in no time.

Croady's wrist is a definite concern to him, BUT it will not interfere with his professionalism, his love of the game, and his life long passion for the brown and gold. If passed by the medicos and coaching panel as fit to play, nobody will give more of their best and/or more of their heart to HAWTHORN.

Great news. I was starting to worry about that wrist.

Just what I was about to say. Looks like he'll be on the park this weekend.

It will be interesting to see how he copes with the new 'push in the back' rule definements - Croady seems to use his hands alot (no pun intended) in marking contests....
