How will 2017 go for the reigning premiers? Can the Sharkies back up a maiden premiership with a solid season? Finishing outside the top 6 in the regular season would be a disappointment.

Big opening round hone clash against the Broncos. Sharkies at home by 2 in a tight game.

Sharks going to have to adapt to life without Ennis and Barba. Broncos way more polished.

Good to get the first win of the year on the board. To do it on the road against the Raiders who are rated a Premiership threat makes it even better.
Jayden Brailey looks like he could be a find.
We will be better for Valentine Holmes return which cannot be that far away.

Although he's only a rookie, I thought Brailey was one of your better performers against us, and he was good again here. Looks a real prospect, and this was much more like it from the Sharks.

The missus was very happy with me on Saturday night. It was basically a stubbie per try so it got messy in the second half. Good way to start the season off moving on from that loss to the Broncos. Brailey certainly an exciting prospect. His try was solid. Very promising for a 20 year old and already nearly playing the whole 80 minutes (unless he did so against the Raiders).
Geez the Raiders are a huge team - when they click it's going to be scary.

A win is a win but we were not at our best against the Eels. Our defence won the game and we lacked the attacking flair of last year. We got away with it against the Eels but a better side will make us pay for some of the errors we made last night. At one stage the Eels had made 15 errors and that cancelled out some of our sloppy handling.A couple of times we lost the ball inside the 10metre line but the Eels let us out of jail by coughing it up.

Had a good afternoon though, watched the Power down the Swans then the Sharks account for the Eels. Great double.

Tough win against the Storm away - which was a vast improvement on the 1 point win over the Knights.

Next game Panthers away. Should be a ripper.

28-2 but for some poor discipline from Wade Graham in the opening few minutes it could have been 28- 0. Geez I was spitting chips when Graham rubbed a Penrith nose in the dirt two metres from the line. As it worked out it didn't matter but not the sort of thing we should do against top sides.

That aside Up, Up Cronulla, we must have the best defence in the comp atm. Great to see Valentine stepping into Barba's shoes at full back.

Nice run of results at the moment. Agree with Wade Graham's early penalty it would've been 28-0... still good for the %.

Premiership defence on track and the side looking a lot more settled after a slow start to the season.

Games like today are pretty important when you have SOO players, so good to get a win and to do it convincingly is even better.

I didn't mind the penalty, gave up just 2 points and this side has always loved being behind in a game!

Good to get back on the winning list but what a comedy of errors. After the game Ivan Cleary said West Tigers made too many errors but I reckon we made even more. Flanagan has to work hard to eliminate those basic errors.

Kind of felt we we're lucky to get that win BUT I was glad to see the team grind out a win. Agree with the Sharkies needing to tidy things up.

Keeping the wins ticking over even after losing four players to Origin. It's becoming a knack to grind out close wins. Gallen and Prior really dragged the Sharks over the line on Saturday night. At this point at least the Sharks are in the running for a rare back to back.
