Anyone else ever just wake up and your neck just kills on one side all the way down to your shoulder? And you can't like, move your neck or stand up for long periods of time?

It usually passes after a few days, and I'm remiss to go to a Chiropractor about it, because frankly I don't think they do anything other than charge me $100.

I've had X-Ray's done on my neck, it's pretty much normal except it's straight in a place where it should be curved. I don't think it's a big deal though.

Anyway, what's a good home remedy for a stuffed neck? Just to take the pain out or whatever while I wait for it to subside. I'm thinking this has got something to do with my shitty office at work, my chair is about 30 years old and give almost no back support.

Anyway, I figured BF would be the perfect place for medical advice regarding my spine as there are so many informed individuals here, so please, offer any suggestion you think might help.

Ok. Press on the fleshy part, on the top of the shoulder that feels sore. Try and let the opposite ear fall to the other shoulder. When you find a spot that hurts, keep pressing it until it goes. :):thumbsu:

Thanks - I'll let you know how it goes - If i get paralysed I'm holding BF responsible.

Holy crap, it's feeling better! I friggin' KNEW there was no point going to a physio or chiro.

Thanks

.

That sounds like it might cost money. No dice.

A massage therapist is the way to go, you prob have a pinched nerve which keeps catching.
They cost about $60 to go to and you are fixed, pretty cheap when you factor your health in - and if you drink, have a night off it and theres your money.

Can do things to "cover it up" but wont help in the long run.

another good stretch is to sit straight in your chair - arms at your sides, then slowly bend your self back a little (from your lower back), then slowly tilt your head back until your eyes are looking straight up at the ceiling. Hold for a few seconds then return to normal sitting. Repeat this 10x (or as many as you can manage without passing out). Do this every 2 hrs. By the end of the day you'll be pretty right most times.

nb - not a high backed chair
