Under the bridge money?

I'm not sure I understand. I had a bet with someone on here, I'll have to search to find out who it was. I was a little drunk at the time, but I do recall that I need at least a direct quote from a club official that there's discussions about Crouch being traded. So my bet is looking a bit sick but that's good news.

edit - just searched, it's El Doederino who looks like dining out on my dime.

Let this be a lesson for all of us on BF - never bet when drunk.

Heard from a close family friend that Brad is pain free for the first time for a long time. Now the big issue will be to get through the pre season. Also confirmed what we knew - that he was misdiagnosed by the club initially.
Keep him away from Hass.

I'd have thought qualified doctors and specialists would have made the diagnosis.

Club doesn’t diagnose. Mismanaged yes. Not misdiagnosed.

Problem was the physio..... who's now been sacked.

Physio is the fall guy. Not blameless. But bit rich to place it all on one guy. Especially when injury management and fitness is the remit of an entire team, not just the Physio.

Bringing Saunders in also pushes old Physio out.

So exactly what was the issue? and what was he diagnosed with previously?

He had OP, which the club were told he didn't have...... then they were told by Saunders he did.

That fits what was being reported along the way, initially it was reported as OP, I'm then pretty sure Pyke was quoted as saying it wasn't OP.....and we were trying to hide his injury.

Do you know who told the club he didn't have OP? was it someone external to the club?

No idea, but I would presume it was someone external

Doctors make mistakes my nephew was misdiagnosed and when my sister questioned the Doctors diagnosis he wasn’t impressed. My sister got a second opinion turned out my nephew had Leukemia. Nothing wrong with getting a second opinion, mistakes happen.

Doctors diagnose, the club medicos decide on treatment programme. Whether to have surgery, whether to manage and hope for the best etc.

Doctor tells you the problem and gives you options

Those options are in the hands of the club. Player has final choice but he trusts clubs advice

Until he doesn’t

Conditions can change over time.

Doctors can misinterpret the severity of the condition, or can misdiagnose.

Clubs (coaches/non-medical staff) shouldn't really be giving any input if we're talking about a player with long-term recurrent injuries.

Most decisions would/should have been made by Brad, club medicos and specialists.

----

Another take: If a player has motor neurone disease (or any other chronic debilitating condition), should the club be giving any medical advice to the player?
Answer: No! decisions should be made between player/club medicos/specialists

Did you just type the words:

“If a player has motor neurone disease” ?

Yes, did you not understand the point I was making?

We're not talking about a "player injury". Brad's case is more along the line of "chronic debilitating condition". Pyke/Burton/Hass should stay the hell away from making any medical/surgical decisions regarding Brad's OP. It isn't part of their job resume.

If in the hands of the Club you mean the Club Doctors, medical or Pyshio. then Yes, But if you mean the training staff and managers then you would be wrong.
Once a player is in the hands of the medical staff he/they are out of reach, Medical staff being the keyword.

The problem for your argument is that I understand exactly the point you were making and it’s ludicrous, hyperbolic inapplicability
