Crowd Tipping Comp - 2002

As promised, it'll be back, bigger, brighter and better than ever for the new season.

Anyhow, I thought I'd give the electorate out there a chance to have some input on the rules and regs and perhaps raise some new ideas for the 2002 comp.

At this stage, the 2002 rules look something like...

• Everyone starts off with 1,000,000 points in round 1. Anyone entering the competition after round 1 will have lost 50,000 points for each round they've missed.
• One point to be deducted for every 1 the estimate is out by, under or over, in each match.
• Bonus points will be added if the estimate is within the following ranges:
  101 - 1,000 ... 2,000 bonus points
  11 - 100 ... 10,000 bonus points (was 20,000 in 2001)
  1 - 10 ... 100,000 bonus points (was 200,000 in 2001)
  Correct Estimate ... 500,000 bonus points (was 2,000,000 in 2001)
• Failure to enter in any given week is a 50,000 point deduction
• A 10,000 point penalty will apply to anyone lodging their tips after the stated weekly deadline as well as ineligibility to score points in matches played on the day of the deadline.
• A players' average weekly score will be allocated to them should a technical problem (eg: BigFooty going down, ISP problem, etc) prevent that player from entering their weekly tips - ON THE PROVISO they'd entered tips both the week prior to and the week following the problem; otherwise the 50,000 point penalty applies for the missed week.
• Disqualification will occur in the unlikely event a competitor 'goes bankrupt' (0 points)
• Official crowd figures used will be those published in the following week's 'Footy Record'
• The winner will be the person with the most points remaining after the Grand Final

Again, there will be grouse prizes for first, second and third place. Just don't know what they are yet.

I don't mind keeping the PMs/emails for finals only, but if the majority of punters prefer, we can do it that way all season.

jod23 took out first place, winning a Sherrin footy (a REAL one); Same Olds was second and took home a matching pair of footy videos; and Dan25 (remember him?) finished third, winning a Coodabeens CD and Guru Bob book.
