Saw the incident and knew it was going to be touch and go. Looking at Johnsons and then looking at Crowleys I reckon he should have got 4 weeks aswell.

The Tribunal set the standards to start off with.

It is a joke.

he hit motlop form the side and thats what saved him

He collected Motlop from forward while Motlop was bent over and in reasonable expectation of obtaining possession.

If you get a copy of the rule book, they have even put an illustration in it and this was text book - reported and suspended.

Johnson should be screaming blue murder.

Have nothing against Crowley but he should have gone. Good luck to him but the Tribunal has just completely reversed itself and has no credibility.

Says more about how hard done by MJ was, than about what Crowley deserved. Crowley's hit wasn't quite as heavy as Johnno's but there certainly wasn't 4 weeks worth of difference.

We all knew the penalties for MJ-like bumps would decrease as the season wore on but I thought they'd at least have the decency to be consistent for at least half a season.

I've heard silly talk about possible legal challenges to the draft as restraint of trade but I think the players association would be better off threatening legal action against the tribunal refusing to rule based on previous penalties.

It's pretty obvious why the tribunal don't let you use past cases as precedents - it would make them look foolish time and time again and stop them handing out ridiculous penalties against certain clubs to set an example. An example they're never consistent with later on.

Dodd gets a week for assaulting someones foot and Crowley gets let off.
Maybe the tribunal have the impression some Port players brains reside in their big toes.
So much for all this protecting the head stuff.

What footage were you looking at? He got him clear in the side, which is what saved him. The MRP are stupid and inconsistent, but not even they would mistake a front-on for a side-on and let someone off. Esp a Freo player...
