I doubt that West Coast will sign Jacobs on a 3 year $1 million contract, sending him to to a state he is not keen on going to. Especially since they have Cox and Naitanui, in a year where the 2nd ruck seems to be finished.

I can't speak for what the poster meant, but as Jacobs is out of contract and no players have been taken from Carlton by the GC perhaps this is what he is alluding to?!

In this case we would receive some sort of compensation and the Crows get burnt by being unreasonable at the trade table.

HOWEVER - there is some water to go under to bridge before then and I really do hope we can work out a trade as I consider both Carlton and Adelaide to be somewhat reasonable at trade time + it would get Sauce not only back home but with a real shot of establishing himself as a first choice ruck, which he deserves

The Suns are also active members of trade week FWIW if you didn't already realise that.

I dont know how mnay times i have to say it. Jacobs will 100% NOT enter the PSD. I can gaurantee this. So if you dont offer something good, have fun with Minson.

How do you know this?? Are you one of these guys who claims to know him?? I dont see how any of the other clubs who have a selection for the Crows in the PSD can afford what we are offering him fiancially. The Crows should just move on in this trade period and deal with a club who doesnt over value its stock (ie Richmond with Tambling). Bring on the PSD for Sammy!

Exactly, it seems to be a hard concept for these Carlton supporters to grasp.

It's harder for Adelaide supporters to grasp that they came to Carlton looking to buy something we didn't want to sell. Just so the Crows can build a new ruck division and play the midfielder they wish to draft with pick 14. Carlton doesn't have to send Jacobs to the Crows if the trade is at our expense. If you want to strengthen your list with a ruck your club isn't interesting in drafting, then you'll have to meet our price. Jacobs wouldn't want to stitch up the club that gave him a chance and then developed him over four seasons. A 22 year old can't move to a new club like he's a free agent and a veteran. To get there, his club has to be given a fair deal for a player who could play at least 150 games.

I think it's pretty obvious that us Adelaide supporters are on exactly the same page as our club recruiters. We think he's worth a 2nd rounder, and so do our recruiters... and so do most neutrals as well.

The fact that we only value him as a 2nd rounder, shows we really arent super keen to get him - we can definetely get by without him.

History says otherwise. We actually get trades done - e.g. Judd trade, Warnock trade, Fev trade. All were very complex, and all happened. You're just having a little hissy fit because you now realise your club will have to pay market value to get Jacobs. What's wrong with that? Your club didn't get off to a good start today, but it still has a few days left to start getting it's act together.

GC can however sign one uncontracted player from each team. They havent pinched one off us yet. Sauce is uncontracted. I assume that as they havent offered him his own island, lear- jet and as many go-go dancers as he can fit into an end of season trip, that he isnt on their shopping list. Maybe if we can't get a deal done and GC realises he is still not contracted, depending on whomever else they nab, they might revise and make him an offer he cant refuse before the PSD!! Or maybe we'll re-sign him. Either way he wouldnt be there for your pick in the PSD

He wants to go home, it would be nice to get him home but I dont see why we should accept unders just to be nice.

Dear o dear. Even if he wanted to go to the PSD, Richmond would snap him up before you.

I'll say it once more, and then I give up. I know, for a FACT, that there is absoloutely 0%chance Sam Jacobs will be up for grabs in the ND or PSD in 2010.

He would like to go to Adelaide, but its not his be all and end all. It is Carltons duty to try and get a trade done with Adelaide, but in no shape of form will we accpet anything less than what we deem he is worth, because he has categorically said he will not walk out.

If we cannot reach a deal with Adelaide, he is happy for the club to explore other options, particulary in Victoria. If not he will stay at Carlton for at least 1 more year.

And Tambling has done what??????? Was talking to a Richmond supporter today and he was saying he hopes Tambling goes, he just hopes they dont have to send deledio and Martin as deal sweetners to get it done!
He is booed by his own supporters.

We actually want to keep Jacobs and most if not all CFC supporters are sorry to see him go, he stood up in a final and got the job done, so if all you crowbags want to use the Bock compo pick on Tambling you had better offer alot more for Jacobs!
