Crows Norwood Oval Hitout

Schell was taller than I thought but didn't do a lot.

nelson was pretty good in the early game.

Massie I didn't see much of, and Marsh didn't do a lot.

Bode looked pretty good, apart from that it was the usual suspects, with Bienke getting on the end of a few.

McLeod was quiet, Riccuito looked like he thoght he was playing against Victor Harbor under 11's and got caught a few times early in the game, but did ok after that.

Rutten did ok in patches, Basset was very good in the backline. Steinglein wasnt bad. Hewitt and McGregor didn't really do a lot to cement a spot. Perrie was probably the best tall besides Basset. Biglands was probably the pick of the rucks in both games.

Very hard to judge against a second rate Norwood though, same as internal trials I guess.

I thought McLeod was BOG in the late game?? oh well, I reckon you'd probably be a better judge than some footy writer....

Seems to be a lot of early criticism already of our forward line, and after just one preseason trial

Thanks for the feedback.
Ant, the forward line is going to be the subject of Crows games for awhile yet I reckon.

Ive been an avid Bienke supporter for quite a long time as anyone on this board would know; Reidy on 5AA yesterday indicated hes a good pinch hitter there but any longer than that opposition teams will work him out [ Strange comment I thought].

Dont know much about Rutten. Is he worth delisting Angwin for?

I may have been a little over critical
but you'd get that due to the opposition they were playing.
The forward line functioned quite well in the 2nd half however by then it looked like a training run, so its probably easy to still be critical.

I thought Ricciuto was better late in the game than McLeod, who didn't do any of the blistering runs we are accustomed to (well one, but he got caught). Burton flew a lot, and started pissing off the camry lovers arond by almost killing himself. kicked a nice goal from a tight angle though.

I think they will have to play better to beat Brisbane, but anything could happen.

Very one dimensional and goes in and out of games both at AFL and SANFL level. Isnt tall or good enough to be a key forward at AFL level i think. Having said that, i love the man...hes one of my favourite players...even better is 'the pornstar' is doing the same course as me :D

He was watching the game with an expert on all thing Crow (ie me) so you can believe what he said

I didn't think McLeod did much at all

Bode was very lively and looks really keen.

Burton also was fit and raring to go

Norwood played their reserves side which was a disgrace.

Ben Rutten looked good up forward and Bassett was very solid in defence

In the first game, Nathan Bock played very well as did Massie and Nelson.

Ben Marsh was soft as always and Chris Ladhams did nothing.

Young Paul Thomas also impressed me with his attack on the ball and courage under fire.

Reilly didn't look that good but I think he got hurt early on.

This games was a trial game in February, after all. I think maybe some people are forgetting that. Maybe Burton for one was forgetting it anyway. Rucci is certainly one that appears to be forgetting it.

Crows have yet to get Stevens & Fitzgerald into the forward setup and that will make a huge difference. Still 16 goals is 16 goals ... and maybe the 2nd half looked like a training run because that is exactly what it was?

As far as having to play better to beat Brisbane that is true and it is expected that things will improve for Crows with more matches, but then again Brisbane are currently short quite a few high-profile players as well are they not? Might not be impossible for Crows to put in a good showing.

Hope you crows don't mind a lions interloper, but if you can get some reasonable odds on the crows to beat the lions this week jump on them.

The lions will have possibly 12 of the premiership side not playing and are a little underdone at the moment. If I can get better than $2.50 for the crows I am jumping on!!
