i tipped the dogs only cos we were poor last week and bocky out, i hope im wrong, i think we have a pretty good record after a loss in the showdown, im no football guru but could anyone tell me a win/loss ratio the week after losing a showdown?

If we play that slow sideways moving crap that we played last week we will get slaughtered.

That style of footy struggles to score while always being vulnerable to a counter attack.

So, if Craig does an Ayres and refuses to admit that he is part of the problem it will be the Dogs by plenty.

Presuming that his arm is twisted and given chinese burns , making him change to a much quicker forward moving game, Adelaide to win by 15 points.

Ive selected the crows based on the following

1. I expect the crows to respond from last weeks soft showing
2. WB have a poor record at AAMI
3. Hoping that 3 loses in a row may have an impact on the Bullies confidence

However I am concerned that both Maric and Moran were not selected as I believe it is crucial that Tippet plays as full time forward

I tipped us to win but really I don't have the faintest clue how the game will go.

Will we kick sideways as a first option?

That is the key question. If we knew the answer to that then tipping this game would be a piece of cake.

Title of thread should be Crows or Crabs.

And to think the phrase "as the crow flies" once meant 'in a straight line'.

Moran as our lead ruckman is REALLY worrying me! Tippett should play most of the game up forward - which is why when Bock didn't pull up, Maric should've come in (and send Moran down back).
(Yes, even if that did mean Symes didn't make it into the team )

IMO Maric should of come to share the ruck with Moran, Stevens could then play at CHB as the Bullies are not that tall up forward and Tippett up forward

with Carlton, Port and Hawks all losing the 8 is wide open so a win would keep us up with the leading pack

Doggies have only beaten the 3 bottom teams this year and have lost the last 3 convincingly. Teams have finally worked out that you tag Gilbee out of the game, you beat the dogs. Just about everyone had the dogs top four this year and this has emerged as the 'line in the sand' game for us if we are going to have a chance of that. Having said that it's hard to ignore how ordinary the Dogs have been so have to tip the Crows at home.
Here's to a good game.

Didn't get around to putting in my tips for R7.

I normally do them on Mondays, but there's no point in doing that on BF as they don't update the odds until later in the week. For some reason, they took the bizarre decision to base the ladder on points based on odds rather than winners actually tipped.

I had internet problems at home and was on a training course during the day, so unable to access the internet from there.

I like the decision to base it on bookie odds.
Now you can test yourself against a bookie without having to bet.
If you average more than 8 points per round you are effectively in profit over the season. So after Round 7 anyone above 56 points is in profit (assuming you put tips in every round).
In reality punters would not have to bet on every match and can pick and choose the games. Also bets do not need to be fixed size. So a good punter would be even better off.
I am surprised by the number above "bookie par".
I would expect the BF owners have a financial incentive to base it on bookie odds. Sportingbet also get to see how good their handicapping is over a wider demographic.

EDIT: Vader, you probably did yourself a favour by not tipping in round 7. 3 longshots came home and paid well. The system automatically gives you the underdog if you do not tip. So you would have scored 10.5 points for round 7 which is probably more than most would have got for that round.
