It seems that Neil Craig has re-introduced the idea of the Crows training in Melbourne after Gary Ayres stopped doing this a couple of seasons back.
Anyone who is interested in going the details are........

SATURDAY 2 APRIL – WESLEY COLLEGE
(St Kilda Rd, Melbourne)

MEMBERS AND SUPPORTERS ARE INVITED TO JOIN COACH, PLAYERS AND OFFICIALS AT THE CROWS TRAINING SESSION COMMENCING AT APPROX 3.15 PM.

hmm

wonder why he would train in melb as opposed to adelaide....travel factor maybe

i have a free day later when i wake up....might head down, it will only be short and sharp i bet

I think maybe its because they have also got a commitment at the AFL HALL OF FAME at QV from 1:00 - 2:00...so they probably wouldnt have time to train in Adelaide before coming to Melbourne!!

Its great to have training back in Melbourne...we are looking forward to it very much!!!

Do you mean to say that the ''normal'' procedure has been fly-in go to the hotel have a team dinner then bed and up in the morning?I assumed that the MB style of a mid day flight followed by a brief 35 minute stretch out then a team meeting etc.

Good to see NC do it this way.Any break in routine must be followed by as normal a setting as possible. If they have a game on Sunday in Adelaide and they have a brief run on Saturday afternoon, then common sense suggests you stick with that, wherever you are

NC seems to like to adopt a lot of Blights philosophies ...... How many of Ayres does he support??

... and is not simply a Blight clone

On the contrary, I'd love it if NC got us to fall in with 13 wins if it meant a Crowzkrieg in September each and every year ;)

hey guys, I went along to training! Very nice venue and a very nice day to watch training here in Melbourne. It's great that NC has reintroduced training in interstate before the matches. The boys trained for about an hour in very warm conditions. All of the 22 named players trained plus Van Berlo the travelling emergency. I very much doubt VB will play as he was only brought over due to his SANFL team having the bye this week - he did look good though.
It was my first chance to get a look at Scott Thompson and I was impressed. He looks like he's going to be a good addition to the side. Lets hope he proves to be as good if not better than Stinga.
I don't know about Shirley...looked to me that he was fumbling alot, and Kenny McGregor also not that great.
Benny Hart looked fit and I reckon McLeod looked pumped up too so im hoping for a good match from him..
Good to see Goodwin back, Biglands should be able to make up for the loss off Clark. There's a bit of competion now b/w the big boys for the ruck spots, especially once Meeson plays a few SANFL games.
Not really much else to mention I don't think. All of them look fit and ready to go. There was a good vibe amongst the group and I really hope they put in a good performance tomorrow!

Did anyone in Melbourne get to training?

Yep managed to make the 5 minute tram ride to Wesley.
They trained for just over an hour and considering the heat I thought they trained really well. The whole team looked quite enthusiastic and sharp. Thompson looked like he was jumping out of skin for a chance to get out there and between you and me I reckon Hentschel may be in for a big one tomorrow. My 'inside' contact wasn't there unfortunately so I didn't get any gossip as to last minute changes etc.

And did VBerlo train as if he was playing?

To be honest he trained like an emergency player.
