Given some of the absolute jumper disgracing efforts this group has put in over the last couple of years or this was actually a reasonable game.

Still hate to lose to those arse clowns and they are a couple of injuries from playing schoenberg Murphy etc as midfielders so have absolutely no right to give the old he haw after seven years of being trash.

Doesnt matter if we play them in tiddlywinks or pétanque, it still hurts to lose, especially when we fought so hard, had a horrific run with the umps and self-sabotaged by knowlingly playing Atkins and then withdrawing him at HT to leave us short-changed on the bench.

I thought we had some lion-hearted excellent individual performances and some really disappointing ones.

Lorenz, Liddy, Williams, Lai, Ramm, Weideman, Linke, Whitlock and Chamberlain battled manfully. Watkins too, although not at his best IMO.

We were massively let down by Rioli and Finlayson who just didn’t get the memo about needing to put their best feet forward to help their teammates. Both were non-contributors and humbled by the mass of experienced Crows AFL-listed players who all did their jobs.

We’ve also got this frustrating group of players who are no doubt doing their best but just not good enough: Anastasopoulos, who consistently works his backside off but rarely does something efficiently. Charleson who was way down on previous weeks, no doubt because some of his territory was taken by Williams. Moore, who is just a momentum killing amateur footballer. Moraes, who does some really good things but then fumbles, or shanks a disposal to overturn the footy. MacKinlay who looks completely lost in his new surroundings.

Overall, a gutsy effort against a much stronger, more experienced, taller and bigger, better balanced, umpire-assisted side.

Maybe without so many injuries to tall players (Marshall, Visentini, Walsh, Soldo, Ratugolea, Moss), we wouldn’t have been ragdolled so much close to their goal. Credit again to Whitlock and Ramm for standing up to their talls and competing manfully all game with no help from Finlayson.

You have to remember before Mac arrived we had never had a small pressure forward in the history of the club.
All they used to do in the old days was kick goals!

Our list is no doubt better than the Crows, our issues are almost entirely coaching

I love how they missed finals for 7 years, we finished above them in all of those years and finished Top 2, Top 4 etc. while they won a spoon and finished bottom 4 etc.

But now all of a sudden, because they finished above us one year, their list is automatically so much better than ours in the eyes of all casual observers.

I like Ramm's game, he has all the tools. Burgoyne should be drafted. Lai has serious jets, next year for him.

Agreed. Effort was there but execution hurt us.

Thought Whitlock was good, reckon he is the forward/ruck answer at AFL - in a couple of years.

Liddy and Lorenz were solid. Moraes has moments and then disappears.

Lai’s been good - seems to run two ways and have some afl traits. Linke’s effort is solid - reckon an afl environment would seem him be a reliable depth AFL option.
Burgoyne needs to build his physique and fitness. Ramm was solid one on one - could develop into something.

Watkins and Moore do a lot right and then burn the ball badly.

Charleson, Mackinley, Anastasopoulos, just not sure there is much AFL standard there.

You could ruck Jezza but then you lose the ruck and effort in the middle with it.

We might have Whitlock and Ramm sharing a lot of the Ruck work next year unless we draft a SANFL Ruck ?

If you watch his first two seasons, you'll love him and youll know why he was named captain. I swear the captaincy is cursed. How many in both levels been awarded the captaincy then went average or even pure shit?

Last year he was injured half the season, so im not gonna bag him for that. But I love moorey most the time, but this year, hes not been his usual self.
