Opinion Current back line set up

We are 4-0 with this current team, no need to change it.

Personally, I think Dawson is great but can be a liability in the back line when it comes to his kicking.

Leave it how it is and only make a change if someone goes down.

Going off the Boss' press conference and analysis of last night we let them enter our 50 too quickly in the second half, which prevents someone like Ibbo floating infront and taking an intercept mark. I think our back 6 is fine for now, have good depth for injury for once.

It also allows blokes like Tippett to get easy service. I think the coaching box was focussed on how to stop the likes of Reid providing midfield drive in the 3rd and early in the 4th. I can't imagine RTB told Johnno to tighten up on Tippett as the solution at the last break. I feel the focus was further up the ground on trying to deal with the source of the issue not the symptom.

Exactly what I think too. Why pick a guy who can spoil and offer not much else? At the moment we have 6 guys who can do the hard work but still offer creativity and rebound.

Am I watching another team? Duffield's penetration and accuracy on D50 rebound is elite. Also great on the intercept and is clearly our best kick out from opposition minor scores, not to mention he's one of our best decision makers hands down.

At this point I think anybody currently out of the team has a few weeks down at Peel minimum before they get a gig, and I absolutely love that!

I don't feel comfortable having Johnson as a 2nd tall defender, prefer him as a loose or 3rd tall. He was lucky Tippett is so shit at kicking otherwise it could have been worse.
I agree. Plus I can't see him getting monstered by big gorillas for 22 weeks and not limping into the finals. Not worth it

I like it how it is, the only defender I am not comfortable having kick the footy is Mcpharlin at the moment and we are faster coming out of the backline.

Huh? McPharlin's disposal is excellent. Second best DE% at the club after 4 rounds.

He has had some horrible turnovers that have resulted in goals in the past. I am not as comfortable with him having the ball as the others. He is no Dawson with the footy I agree, but he's no Hill either.

McPharlin had a period last year when his disposal was awful, but otherwise over his career he has been an excellent user of the ball.

Ibbo has been outstanding. Back to his early 2013 form where he was tracking to All Australian before his injury.

Agree. Ibbo has been outstanding but I reckon Clancee has added a new dimension.
What it will do when Zac D comes back in is allow Ross to use Clancee as an attacking weapon. He has been bloody great.
So if that is the question, who comes out of defence for Dawson, it is Clancee.

Certainly seems to have more 'bounce' in its current form. Query whether that will save us against a multi-pronged attack like Hawthorn when we face them again.
