This is the VOTING THREAD for Game 1 - jod23 vs PrimeTime Pricey

jod
C - Joakim Noah (player from team I support)
PF - Blake Griffin
SF - LeBron James
SG - Ray Allen
PG - John Wall (starting non all star and less that two full seasons)

Bench
Jason Terry (6th man)
Carlos Boozer
Eryan Ilyasova

VS

Primetime Pricey
C: Andrew Bynum
PF: Amare Stoudamire (team I support)
SF: Paul Pierce
SG: Stephen Curry (non all-star starter)
PG: Russell Westbrook

Bench
Kawhai Leonard (under 2 seasons)
Nick Young (designated 6th man)
DeAndre Jordan

When voting, keep in mind that here's how the competition was defined;

We each draft 8 players (starting 5 + 3 man bench).
Players drafted can only be from current NBA rosters.
You draft the best possible team to win this year.
We ignore current injuries in terms of drafting.
We ignore any other factors such as suspensions, contracts/free agency, etc.

The idea for this competition is that we draft a team from current rosters that we believe could win the championship this year had they been together for the entire season, and all remained healthy.

And remember, as requested by you, the fans, we've got extra criteria for the picks to make it interesting;

Extra Criteria for Picks - Each team must satifsy this criteria
*1 starting player who has not been an All-Star
*A designated 6th man
*1 player who has played less than 2 full seasons of NBA basketball, for whatever reason
*1 player from the team you support

So vote accordingly. Vote for the teams you think best satisfy all the criteria, the teams that you think would have the best chance at the championship this year had they been together for the entire season, and all remained healthy.

And remember, anyone can vote, but draft competition participants votes count for 2!

As I write this, I still haven't actually voted, because I don't know who i'm going to vote for.

You see jod23's team, with LeBron and Blake, Ray-Ray and Wall, and you think 'gee that would be a tough matchup'... but then you look at PP's team and it just counters it so very well.

Paul Pierce has proven time and time again that he can beat LeBron when the chips are down. Russell Westbrook is just a dominant player at the PG position, and would school John Wall easily you'd have to say. Andrew Bynum is perhaps a top 2 or top 3 centre in the NBA now, and with good reason.

Man, tough one.

I think i'm going to have to vote for PP. I'm amazed though. I would have thought a team with LeBron would get my vote.

The reasons i will win are as following...

Wall cannot contatin Westbrook
LeBron wont close in the 4th
Allen is now a shadow of himself
Griffen cant play defence
Noah cant score

the 3 point shooting of Curry, Pierce, Young and Westbrook is key and the defensive rebounding and blocking of Bynum and Jordan will be immense

Man this is tight. I think in a 7 game series Lebrone would have a few monster games. If you play Lebrone at teh point, then wall is expendable. But I worry about Boozer and Ilya playing that other forward role in his absence...

for PP, I worry about this:

C: Andrew Bynum
PF: Amare Stoudamire (team I support)
SF: Paul Pierce

All three have shown sookiness behaviour, although PP to a minimal extent.

The PF matchup is salivating where no D is a prerequisite.

Im abstaining from voting

Tough one. LBJ obviously a beast but the rest of jod's starting lineup is weak. PP on the other hand has a very even starting five without any true superstars (Westbrook is getting there). Simply off starting fives I would give it to PP but then jod has the better bench.

Hmmm, PP by a whisker.

Having Steph Curry without any injury concerns gives PP the edge in this match up. Pierce plays LeBron as well as anyone

Paul Pierce on Lebron is a great match-up for Primetime Pricey to get them home with Westbrook also torching John Wall.

In all other spots combined Jod probably has the edge but it's those two positions for me that has PP's team getting the W.

This is crazy. No team with Amare Stoudemire can beat my team. Bynum is a sook with mentality issues. Westbrook is great but Wall is no slouch either. PP is a good matchup for LeBron but he is still LeBron James. How can Stoudemire guard Griffin. We will run and gun. Noah is also the perfect junk man.

Allen will destroy from deep with LeBron demanding doubles.

No way does PP beat this team without an out and out superstar.

I know a lot of people hate LeBron but he doesnt lose this series with help from Griffin, Wall, Noah etc... Look what LeBron can do now with just an aging Wade and a bunch of scrubs. You put this kind of talent around him and we win easily.

Crazy...

I voted for Jod. Noah will be in Bynums ear all night, Bynum to be ejected before half time. But really it came down to Lebron for me, Jod has him and that gives him the win. Wall also would be a pretty good defender for Westbrook

and you cant win with Wall at the point and my guards would run rings around everyone. Just took fast.

Bynum and Jordan would destroy Noah.

LeBron cant close

Case closed.

i agree, plus flake will miss games from whiplash due to flopping so hard.. you have my vote.

You vastly underrate Noah. Twice the player Jordan is. Will give Bynum fits on defence. Junk man, energy man, sacrifice his body for loose balls, 1%er guy, will do anything to win. That is pretty much the opposite of Bynum.

What's funnier is that you seem to be saying they weren't a balanced team.

When did I say that, they are a nicely balanced team which is why they would lose. Look at the Pacers against the Heat. Great spread across the team but no superstar. They lost in 6 games.
