D. Smith - thoughts?

Just interested in your thoughts about Smith.

How has he been? Will he cut it? Seems to have gotten a few games this year and picked up some touches.

Smithy is a very hard worker, gives his all each time he plays. Is constantly in the BoGs for Peel Thunder - but given their status as WAFL easybeats / basket-cases anyone with an ounce of talent and a good work ethic should be able to manage that fairly regularly.

For Freo he is very much a back-up player - well behind other small midfielders like Bell, JCarr, Schammer. He also seems to be a bit of a wet-weather specialist and plays more away games than home games - maybe because the larger ground at Subi doesn't really suit his style. He definitley has bucket-loads of courage and is more often than not the one at the bottom of the pack feeding it out... but get him on the end of a handball receive and it's anyone's guess where the ball will end up. Often it's about 30m in a direction about 45deg from where it was intended. Disposal by foot is not his strong point.

Will he make it?? Well, when we have a fully fit squad he would be nowhere near our Best 22 on his current form. However, with injuries decimating our squad at the moment he should have an opportunity to rack up a few games and impress the selectors. Definite fringe player... and probably on the fringes of the fringe. But damn good bloke by all accounts.

Often is BOG as in best player from either side. Has one special talent. Can get his hands on the pill, and very good in close. At WAFL level lack of foot speed isn't as much of an issue.

We have Bell, Hasleby and Josh Car who do the same sort of thing and he is the perfect back-up.

The "turkey" you refer to RIPPER_46 didn't go to BWR after the game against the roo's last year. The "turkey" told CC as he was coming down from the coaches box at the end of the game, it was the weakest coaching effort he had ever witness to which CC replied "get f%$ked ya bald headed c%%t"

There was a number of people who heard the reply and were upset that the coach would speak like that to life long south's and Docker supporter/member, after all the "turkey" was right. The 2 blokes who were booing CC in the BWR were roughed up by security and thrown out.

The "turkey" is one of Dutchy's mates and a work mate of mine. This "turkey" you refer to is top bloke and the most passionate football supporter I have ever met. Poor effort RIPPER_46.

We all have doner irrational things under the influence of Passion. Doesn't make his behavior accepptable to me.

The anger after the roo's game had nothing to do TLo but CC's decision to leave a first gamer on Rocca all night and letting Steven King run riot all night without anyone manning up on him.

Rocca kicked 5 on Rash and even Dutchey has gone in to bat for Rash over that one. When Polak was moved onto Rocca we were still in front and still in the game with 5 minutes to go.
A couple of arsey goals from Motlop & Wells and a lack of run from our players in time on did more to lose that game than anything the coach could have done.

Steven King plays for the Cats last time I looked.
