1 did a hammy early, you have no idea. But they were both offered 800 a game in the EFL, but are both Ormond juniors. PA are a blight on the vafa.

if the hine brothers are each worth $800 a game then schulz and brown must each be worth $5000+ a game. giants ticks must go jay and mitch for foregoing that amount and playing for the love.:thumbsu:

Almost as much as Glen Eira likes a merger
So peanut , if a local club is on the verge of folding do you let them go down the drain and destroy their heritage or do you merge and allow their history to prevail. You probably enjoy watching clubs go under. GE still have reunions and supporters from those clubs that were given a home. Sure is better than buying flags or having a feeder school like the private schools do. Other clubs do things to prevent kids playing footy. Just look at what some of the clubs have done to prevent GE from having juniors. GE does what they have to do to survive. Drop down one day and have a look at what this fabulous club has to offer.

No one likes seeing clubs fold but I'm pretty glad my club is its original club. Never merged, never been taken over, and certainly hasn't formed a strategic partnership to drop down a grade and chase a flag

Sorry if I'm missing something here, but my club played Glen Eira and Monash in 2014 Division 2 and they were the bottom two teams, both struggled pretty badly. I don't know what happened behind the scenes but looking at ladders alone in 2015 Glen Eira won 5 games in Division 3 and Monash won 5 games in Division 2. Had it not been for St Francis Xavier folding Monash, too, would've been in Division 3 in 2015. The merger obviously took place between 2015-16 seasons. I don't see the problem that the new club would start in Division 3? If the clubs were at a stage that survival relied on them merging, wouldn't it be appropriate to put them in the lower grade? Where one of the two merging clubs had just competed and won 5 games? Besides, in 2016 they finished 2nd behind a team that lost 1 game and had a percentage of 200....
