Districts had first training session of the new year last night down at the beach. very good session. mini triathlon of sorts with a run and board session mixed with some light skills.
Some very fit looking blokes burned it up most noteably new boom recruit steve bracchi. would have to be the fittest 6ft6 bloke going around. good luck to the ruckmen of d2

I'm interested to know how their other boom recruit looked, hopefull he hasn't put on more weight again,if so would almost look like a dim sim with arms and legs
Also any districts blokes out there i would like to know how luke kealy is performing on the trach and if he turns up to train thanx boys go bloods

hahahaha no probs mate tuffer league any way no room for slow hang-outs hay? has niemi been doing much in the off season? plays a same style of game as ya self?

I want to find the identity of this Streetball, seems to know a lot of goss about both Salesian and certain individuals at Aquinas. Many chances in D2 this year, Aquinas has recruited from reports, Leos has picked up a few younger guys, Salesian unfortunately lost a few and can confirm Singh has signed with Croydon in EFL Div 1, he also tried to bring a few with him but Croydon wasn't interested! Good to see Werribee have held onto a few young guns for another year, any other reports???? Who is this Streetball?

yeah exactly right mate, you got it in one. thats why we left we just couldnt handle how "tuff" it was.
fezza has been training really hard, looking fit as a fiddle.

I heard a whisper that the Bentleigh coach has resigned due to family committments. Is there anyone from Bentleigh on the forum that confirm this ? Who is going to be the replacement ? Is it gunna be Streetball ? As he seems to have his finger on the pulse of D2 Footy. :D

Not sure about training i wasnt there. i have work next few times training is on so i wont be there. From what i heard there was about 20 blokes there. Its hard to get many there as we dont have a ground to train on at the moment, and with the grand prix coming up it will be hard, but hopefully by first practice match everyone would of been at training.

Good to see some new heads at the districts last night, also good to see some of the ugly heads from last years team return for a run and a swim. Also good to see some even uglier heads return from other clubs/ time off footy.

Who invited the jellyfish?

Seems like this thread is almost dead guy's we all need to lift. Have heard that the Werribee boys have had a great turnout thus far. Some key players returning and some very handy juniors filtering through. Seems they are thriving under new coach Norton and are expecting a big year. What's the latest with the rest of the clubs/ground conditions?

RFS i 'm not certain but i think Therry, Albanvale and queenscliff were getting thrown around a while back. That will depend of course on the availability of grounds, however Soldiers reserve is in pretty good nic.:thumbsu:

We at South have a game coming up against Nth Sunshine. Had another vs Mernda but it fell through due to the debacle DV are becoming, no fault of Mernda FC. SMD are actively seeking another game. Is your club interested? Our ground won't be ready till may so it'll have to be at yours.

harper- what about a country match- can be a great teambuilder and a lot of country grounds are exempt. We are playing Phillip island// Try the Mininera league- we had interest up there and ended up playing Dunkeld- then had a great night out before returnign the following day

Thanks for the tip oc, we travelled to Sale last year for a match that put us in great stead for the season. Private Message me any contacts you may have in these leagues.

Cheers:thumbsu:

What can everyone tell me about South Melb Districts prospects for 2007?

We are having a rough pre season. So far we have been scrounging beach space and paddocks around Port Melbourne to train on. South are traditionally slow starters as far as numbers on the track go, so we haven't broken any attendance records but what we have lacked in quantity we have gained in quality. Word around the club is we've probably only lost 1 or 2 of last years GF team. Also lost D3 full back of the year, deregistered by VAFA.
Have a couple of absolute guns training, hopefully they sign on soon!
