What happened to Daics? I remember he was a commentator for the Saturday Afternoon games and they even had a segment called Ask Daics at half time. Was he fired or what? Also, where the hell did they get Andy Maher from? Good commentator but ive never heard of him before.

Probably got axed, seemed to go way overboard and get too excited...especially with Huddo, could not stand listening to them together.

He was essentially made redundant when Tim Lane joined Channel 10. Before Lane came, it was Huddo and Daics on the afternoon match and Quartermain and Christian on the night match. Once Lane came in, they didn't need 5 commentators. He wasn't any good anyway. He went way over the top eith his excitement. He wasn't a very good ball-by-ball caller. At least Silvagni is only asked to do special comments.

I dont know where Miilhouse Maher came from but he does look like Milhouse.

I must admit i cringe every time i hear silvagni speak ... although i loved him as a player ... i have no problems in saying he is the most useless footy commentator ive ever seen!!!! he can't put a full sentance together and says the most useless/obvious things ... daicos would have been much betta at special comments imo.

Very one-eyed Carlton Nut. Hosts an excellent programme on SEN on Sunday mornings from 9 to 12 called The Insiders with Jake Nial from The Age and David Colbort former Aussie Olympian. Probably the best sporting show on radio.

I think Daics (for some reason) called better on 3AW - why did they let him go.

He quit 3AW so he could focus on working at 10 who then sacked him as they saw him as a special comments man not a commentator.

Andy Maher also worked for C7 Sport, and Seven(not sure about Seven) oh did he whine when Carlton didn't get a free kick they didn't deserve. On C7 during the VFL games he was very biased towards Carlton, I love the silence, when Tasmania got up and won
