He didnt kick a goal which was stange because the pies kicked 31 that day and beat the Saints by 178 at Victoria Park.........

He had 27 touches......

His first kick went out of bounds of the full I think, which reminds me of Chris Egan. I thought he was fantastic.

Nope, Morrison is a liability
While Travis is still learning
Most definitely agreed.. Also Lockyer looked very dodgy with the ball, I never realised he'd lost THAT much form

Dale showed utter classic and in fact there were many, many times I yelled out WHAT A CHAMPION!!! And let's face it. He does have that potential.

Travis was a 50/50. When he first got moved down back he was completely lost. Then after the break he improved alot (eg got in front, faced the ball and spoiled well) but he was indeed disappointing below his feet quite a few times. Just one of those games and no doubt at training he'll be made aware of it. Great to see him back in the 1's. :thumbsu: Great place kick and can truly see up the ground.

Chad, whom I had never bagged and saw why at times was needed, ironically against the Weagles signed his own fate. What a complete shocker for someone with 'experience'. Weagles are a finals team and we're a finals team. If we have anyone in the side that plays that bad in an actual finals game then you would be would simply be better off having 3 on the interchange it is that serious.

Re:GD, even though it's been answered, I would'nt know, considering I didn't even know AFL existed when Daicos was at his best :p

Thomas has been the most exciting talent to me, for a first year player. As mentioned, Jason Cloke was a valuable member of the side in his first year (loose-man or not, he was valuable!), Ryan Lonie was exciting I thought, I liked Adkins, but Thomas has been great this year.

Travis Cloke, was pretty disappointing, but we aren't on his back for sure. It was his first match in his premiership career playing a key backman role, and he did look slow, and a little bit lost as a 'defender' but he got better as the game wore. There are signs, but Lebo, i think a little over-rating on Trav's game.

Oh and seeing people are mentioning Heater in the Dale Thomas post I'll add something too. Heater will be the next Captain of Collingwood after Josh. I don't need to say why because you can see it on the ground yourself. :thumbsu:

I think playing Travis in the backline will train him to "switch on" more. If he stuffs up or doesn't go hard enough in the forward line then the ball can be taken away by the opposition which isn't a major problem. But if he slips up in the backline, the direct consequence could be a goal which is far more damaging.

You obviously weren't at the same game as me, T Cloke filled Wakelins role when he got injuried and did a superb job.

sorry pielebo im with dritz. was very average for 3 quaters. Played way to loose for a backman . He was much better late in the game and he is playing in a different possie. I still think he is a huge talent but not nearly his best game. If the eagles put the ball out in from of mcdougall he would have taken a truck load of marks. Fortunately they kicked a few to long which gave cloke the chance to spoil

I thought he was very composed when he had the ball. I wouldn't say it was his best game but he did play well. I think his 1st game (ANZAC Day last year) was very good.

Sorry guys. I didnt mean he was one of the best yesterday. I just thought that he showed some more promise and I believe he came out of yesterday with more respect from me because he showed he is capable of being a good backman at times. I agree he wasn't near his best at the start but he definitely didnt let down towards the last 35-40 minutes of the game. The time Collingwood didnt conceed too much, which Id say was due to a little of his contribution. But I do believe hes a better player after I saw him on Saturday. When is anyone going to start a thread on Heater? This guy must be a shoe-in for the Rising Star...

Thomas was sensational on the weekend. Reminded me of Hird a couple of times, where he could seem to find space with 5 Eagles all around him.

As for Trav, IMO he looks slower than last year. He put on a lot of weight over the summer if I remember right, and I think it shows in that he has lost quite a bit of the mobility he had last year. I think if he takes it a bit easier on the weights over the next few years he'll prove to be a great player for us over the next 10 years.

Happy with Trav's game. They boy definitely has a future, but for the next year and a half he'll be a spare parts player. Good to see him play in defence and learn quickly.

True.
Some supporters have a view of the future that doesn't go beyond 1 week.

A 197cm 19 year old KPP in his second season playing senior footy - Something to smile about indeed

Sparky was very good, he's a cheeky kid with just enough class to match his huge balls. He adds the lair to Swan's nous and Shaws limitless concentration. Very promising generation of kids, especially in Pendles lives up to his potential (possibly the best of them).

T Cloke played excellently, after a shaky start. Whats this rubbish about his poor positioning? He generally beat his opponent, zoned off a couple of times for key marks in the 3rd and last quarters, and while he fumbled a couple below the knees he recovered well to neutralise the play or knock it on for his team-mates. Its all good boys.

it worries me that you know the size of the boys balls.

It would come close. Carman played one year, but boy, he is remembered vividly for it!

Still remains one of my favourites, Wayne Carish!!! performances all year :)

I think Pendles could've been the same had he started earlier and our midfield was a little weaker, he did a great job.
