The kid is a dead-set double of Nason with brown hair!

Very impressed with what I saw, should get a starting 21 spot next week.

Reckon the 'predator' nickname will stick. Saw him in the VFL early this year and thought he was too good there. Hopefully he can string more games and become a real positive for the dogs.

He and howard were two very good positives.
That's what this season is now. Turn over a few blokes, get some games into the kids and find out who's in our 2012 best 22.

A few established blokes should be concerned cause some of these kids look capable.

Can see why everyone who watched Williamstown was excited about him, he's gonna be a player. Was pleased with Howard's second game as well - some good signs.

This.

Dalhaus has an enthusiasm and willingness to run and work that should embaress a number of his teamates. It will be a sign of idiocy from the MC if he is dropped any time this month.

He did exclusively short kicks. To those who have seen him at Willi - does he have a long kick on him?

Howard had a very good first half in particular and the signs are good. Early days yet but i will hopefully have to take back my criticsm of his early drafting. i wil bevery happy to be proved wrong.

This! :thumbsu:

After seeing him a couple of times with Willi, it was clear that he wanted to play seniors. Has the attitude, skills, the run and the 2nd & 3rd efforts we've been looking for all year.

Might even become a cult figure if he keeps it going - which I'm sure he will.

How did he fall all the way to the rookie draft? Was a gun last year at TAC level.

Can only assume it's the same reason Hooper slipped through and why another Morrish medalist playing for Willi Dion Woods wasn't drafted, because of his height.

Dal was fantastic last night, then intent, the hunger and most important of all the talent looks to be there. As long as the work rate remains, he must stay in the side for the rest if the year.

At the start of the Game I was spewing he was a SUB. Could have really been the spark we needed to get us going in the first. Would have taken some pressure off runners like Murphy. The predator is really going to put pressure on players to keep there spots.

His quarter and a half was just sensational. I realise he may have come on when other guys were tiring, but his run and intensity were as good as I've seen. His tackle deep in the forward line was outstanding and you could see he knew exactly what he was doing - trying to find his opponent's forearm so he could pin it and win the free.

Perhaps what impressed me both was his ability to read the play. He worked into space well, and on an occasion ran just ahead of the play to receive a handball and from there no one was going to catch him. On two occasions he delivered the ball short to a leading forward instead of blazing away. Good decisions, not bothered by the pressure of his debut or playing on a Friday night in the AFL.

I might be a bit too excited for having seen just over a quarter, but apparently this is what he's been doing in the VFL for 2 and a half months. This 18 year old kid might already be an outstanding player - forget about promise or potential.

Performed exactly as I thought he would.

Has speed and is hard at the footy/does the defensive side of things well.

He's been doing this for a couple months now for Williamstown.

If Eade doesn't start this kid next week he's kidding himself.

Looked hungry, unlike a few of your boys. Reward the effort, Rocket; send a message.

This.

He may just be able to lead by example.
Big statement about an 18 year old, but everything that's been said about him here is on the money.

Go Predator!

BTW - has a fair footy pedigree. His dad, Mark, was a star with Geelong West in the VFA during the 80s, after a stint with the Cats.

Yep, he was brilliant when he went on. His actions could've created at least 3 goals but we got unlucky (Dj missed, Gia dropped a mark, Holding the ball wasn't paid).
I'm kind of worried though that the way he goes about it and his size could get him an injury early in his career (but hopefully not). Hopefully he doesn't get the sub vest again next week

Dalhaus smashed the agility record when he was tested-no player in the history of testing has done better. Elite agility, elite speed and super tough.

So why wasn't he taken in the main draft?

Too short and kicking needs work. Speed and toughness are his great attributes

Looked good.
The thing I was most impressed by was the places he ran to when he didn't get the ball. Not something people usually look at but he was willing to work for his team mates to clear space and drag his opponent away.

Also got into good positions to receive the ball only to have teammates up the field turn it over.

"Too short" has to be the worst reason for not picking a player up. He's about 5'10" if the bulldogs website is accurate. Could name a hundred players under that height that have made it. As long as his kicking is up to scratch he'll be an absolute beauty and a steal in the rookie draft.

good to see we finally got one pick right for a change !

Spot on, this is something that fans with minimal football knowledge struggle to grasp. This kid understands the game naturally.

Ask Gia, he gets criticized for doing exactly as you have described above...
