Anyone know where Damien Ryan is?

He does`nt appear on the injury list and can`t get a spot on the emergency bench.

Cant even find him playing for the scorpions.

last i heard, he was in the springvale reserves. he can't be doing well as he cannot seem to get a game in the springvale seniors

just read the 'inner saintum news' vfl report which says that damien played for springvale this week and did ok with limited opportunities. copy below.

i think this might be his last year for the saints.

VFL REPORT

Springvale 20. 15. 135
Williamstown 14. 17. 101
Goals: Davis 3 Lawrence 3 Pitt 3 Carmody 2 Smith 2 Walton 2 Baker Berry Carroll O'Brien Robbins
Best: Robbins, Walton, Harrison, Carmody, Pitt, Elliott, Rigg

Another very good performance by the Springvale team on Sunday with a 34 point victory at Williamstown. St Kilda was represented by 9 listed players and 2 rookie list players. When the game was there to be won, several St Kilda players put their hands up for senior selection and helped the Scorpions across the line. The Springvale team has a very strong belief in themselves & this has been very apparent when games have been up for grabs throughout the season so far. This is obviously a belief that needs to replicated into our senior St Kilda side.

Of the listed players, Ben Walton was his usual dominant self on a wing with hard running providing 30 possessions and a couple of goals. Ben tends to be able to consistently dominate VFL games and really needs to take his opportunities when promoted to senior level. Jason Blake was very steady in defence and will no doubt come into senior calculations for a much needed tall defensive role. Chad Davis helped the Scorpions gain the ascendancy in the 3rd quarter with three terrific goals, and finished the match with 22 quality possessions. Tim Elliott got his fourth game under his belt with a much improved effort in the ruck. He took some telling marks in the second half and dominated the centre bounces to set up clearances for the strong Scorpions midfield. Steven Baker, Damien Ryan, Daniel Wulf, Justin Berry, Chris Oliver and Justin Peckett also contributed well from limited opportunities. Probably the most promising aspect to come out of the game though was the performance of Steve Lawrence in the forward line. For the first time this year he was able to jump for and take some strong marks and converted for 3 goals for the afternoon. He hit the contests very hard as usual and was very clean in his 17 disposals.
Several injuries at senior level may pave the way for several players who played in this game to make their way back into the senior St Kilda team.

In the Springvale Reserves game, Jason Cripps managed to get through another 4 quarters without any major discomfort to his much talked about hamstring. He is starting to run with the ball a lot better as the season progresses and provided he is able to train on Wednesday night will play again next week. Mark Wittison ( Rookie ) also showed his class during the Springvale Reserves game with some clever goals from Centre Half Forward.
