Dane Swan to miss Queens B'day

With Dane Swan expected to miss the Queen's Birthday along with Collingwoods Bye the week before and his injuries is anyone planning on trading him out?

Re: Dane Swan to miss Queens B'day

Nope, but I'm planning to trade him IN right after the bye. He'll have bottommed out and should be around $470K :D

Re: Dane Swan to miss Queens B'day

It would be stupid trading him out because after the bye he'll be back and most likely be injury free. His price is already low so you're not going to be saving much cash by trading him out either. The only reason you'd trade him would be if you didn't want him in your side for the 2nd half of the season, or you had a heap of trades and were facing donuts.

Re: Dane Swan to miss Queens B'day

Can we expect him to really turn it up after returning from Arizona? 10 games, could he average 120-130 for those? If so, I'll be trading him straight in for Hibberd that round.

We all know he's injured, but the million dollar question is will he regain his form and recover properly? Are you going to trade him out?

I have had Swan as captain since the beginning of the year. I've been retaining him as captain because I kept thinking he's got to come out and play a blinder soon. Finally made the call this week and made Pendles captain. I think I may trade Swan for Ablett next week.

The trip to Arizona should do him a world of good. Backing him to hit form shortly after his return.

If you were going to trade Swan out, last week would have been the ideal time to do it, while his price was still reasonabley high. Now he'll be possibly $100k off a premium mid.

Agree 100%, too late now..

Swan scored 4 goals today and average 90s in last 5 games, so whilst not great, might as well keep Super-Swan

Those with abundance of trades, then trading is okay (I guess)

Swan will be M8.

Need Pendlebury, as every side i played has him and i'm gonna lose every league

trades and money not a problem.

current midfield: swan,pendles, boyd, bartel, hodge, cotch (hibberd, swallow, callinan)

i want to bring in ablett. do i:

cotch--> ablett

or swan --> ablett

opinions much appreciated

Arizona could do wonders. Thinking of Nick Malceski after his knee reco, came out and blitzed it. Three week to recover, should be in incredible form when he gets back. Maybe shouldn't have played tonight?

As long as he gets over this injury I can't see him not returning to form.. Great Player in a dominate team will rack it up... unless Malthouse decided to do a bomber and place him more up forward now... still I have faith in old Swannie!:D

Lol. Would love to know who you have ahead of him if Swan is going to be M8! He's not going THAT bad. :p

Once he comes back will be back to racking up 30+ disposals, meaning a minimum of 100. Lock for my M6. Reasonably easy run home for Pies too.

Swan will not come into my team. From say round 7 onwards I've been saying I'm going to get him after every round. His scores dropped and his price plummeted. Ablett will be my list mid upgrade leaving it

Ablett, Boyd, Pendlebury, M.Murphy, Priddis, Selwood.

I know this may come to bite me as his scoring potential is so high, but he'll miss the next two weeks and Ablett will miss none baring injury.

Really? Sydney, Carlton, Hawthorn, Ess, St. K, @ Freo and Geelong!! :eek:

Has topped 110 in just 3 games all year (injury given)...all against crap teams...and with just 4 of the next 12 against North, GC, Port, Bris...

Brave lock. ;)

Anyone that's even contemplating trading out Swan must be smoking some really bad cut meth or something...

Will take a close look at Swan after our bye.
Is a proven Super Premium at a very reasonable price.
Playing injured and knocking out 90's is not even close to the worst effort we've seen this year.
