Watch VFL games you can see what we need to draft.
Watch our midfeild and run off half back you can see what we need.

Could you imagine our VFL team if we traded for Bradshaw and someone like Thorp was left at our first pick and then a tall who we new was a good player dropped to our 4 round pick. Our team would consist of:
Grima
N.Ablett
McCarthy
Playfair
Gardiner
Hunt
Blake
West
Lonergan
Spencer
Hawkins
Thorp
Owen
+ another

What do we do if we lose two or three midfeilders in te AFL? Remebering 3 of our smalls (Byrne, Cooke, Davenport) are VFL only players. This would be a rediculous situation which getting Bradshaw could create.

We dont need another forward. Strange as that sounds given our recent years. But we have some decent forwards that will come into there own in the next few years. What we need is some pacey midfielders and HB flankers who can run the ball for us. Of course we need good players you idiot. But what is the point of getting another forward at this point? With Nathan and Hawkins amd Grima waiting to add to some already useful forwards. We need players who can deliver the ball to them so they can actually mark it and kick goals. That is what we lack. Bradshaw is not that player. So what's the point of getting him? ......GOON:mad:

The fact that you ended your comment with a lewd remark shows the depths of your intelligence. I will be glad when school holidays is over and idiots like you are back in playschool.

We should get him.. we need a ready made, mature forward while we wait for the others to develop because as it stands, while having some good talent down there, our forward line is seriously crap....

You look at all the top 8 teams except West Coast have got a quailty Foward
Sydney-Barry Hall, Micheal O'Laghlin
Adelaide- Mark Riccuto and Trent Hentchell
Fremantle-Matthew Pavlich
Western Bulldogs-Brad Johnson
Melbourne-David Neitz
Collingwood- Anthony Rocca, Chris Tarrant
St Kilda- Fraiser Greigh, Nick Rewoldt

That is the thing we are missing. i know we have some good young ones coming threw like Ablett Playfair Hawkins. Wouldnt it be good if we had him ther to teach the young ones how to play!

Did i miss something this year. He is useless, and will only be on the list to be a backup.

Bradshaw is the only guy in the draft I would want playing at Geelong (not interested in Akka, Gardiner or Everitt). I heard that he will stay at Brisbane only if Voss retires. He has nothing against Voss, it's just that he wants to get paid more, and they can't afford both Voss and Bradshaw. If Voss retires, money will be freed up to pay Bradshaw more, and he will stay at Brisbane.

Apparently, the two clubs most interested in him are Geelong and the Bulldogs. But considering that the Bulldogs are after Akermanis, and wouldn't be prepared to give the world for both Akka and Bradshaw, it opens the way for Geelong to most likely get him. As long as we don't give away our ten top players, or trade our "Tom Hawkins" pick to him (I want Hawkins as well), then I say do the deal. We don't have Kingsley, so Bradshaw at FF would be ideal. At least then, he wouldn't be kicking five goals against us all the time.

The deal I would want done, which would mean that we don't have to give up as much, would be a three-way deal with Brisbane and the Bulldogs, where the Bulldogs would get Akermanis, Geelong would get Bradshaw, and Brisbane would get Sam Power (Bulldogs), James Kelly (Geelong) and maybe a draft pick from each. This way we are only giving up Kelly and a draft pick, which Brisbane would not accept on its own, but by including Sam Power and the Bulldogs pick, Brisbane would be compensated and WB and Geelong would get the players they want. Everyone wins.

FFS we don't bloody need Bradshaw! One of Grima, Nablett, and Hawkins will come good.

I hope they all come good and would suggest that in time they will. My only drama is that I don't want Scarlett, Dasher, Harley etc being past their prime when they do come good.

If we get Bradshaw then we're a serious contender straight away. That means we can have a serious crack over the next few years without pinning our hopes on a couple of teenage key forwards.

If we are waiting in hope that Ottens, Mooney, Nathan or even Tommy Hawkins are going to become 50+ goals per year forwards over the next year or two then we're kidding ourselves. Our current crop of forwards (KPP especially) will kick no more than 30 goals each and that's in a good year. Moons looks our most dangerous and Otto can take a mark and kick a goal but all too infrequently. Playfair, McCarthy (apart from the Carlton game but eh, who can't kick em against the Blues???) and Charlie have been given plenty of opportunities and won't develop into major goal scoring options. If Hank regains his confidence and works his way back into the side he may again prove to be a handy link man but won't be a Coleman contender and ATM he looks to be the third choice CHF behind Moons and Nablett.

Sorry DanA but as for not drafting Bradshaw coz we will have too many talls in our VFL side isn't really too much of a convincing arguement. As I stated in the Tarrent thread, only one of Playfair, McCarthy or Charlie would be retained on our list especially if we sign Bradshaw. You would obviously draft mids or running players with the remainder of our picks and lets not forget that with Grima being likely to be the only rookie to be retained, we would have at least 4 rookie picks where we could add to our running stocks.

I would have loved to get Bradshaw 3 years ago but we didn't. If we got his signature and set him up in the square we could get 3-6 years out of him, maybe more with good behavior. If his sole purpose is to stay inside 50 and kick goals then there won't be too much wear and tear on his body so we have a walk up target for the next few years while Nath & Hawkins can find their feet playing on the second, third, fourth or fifth best defender.

Bomber has one year to run, one season to impress. I say Bradshaw or bust and I rekon he might have fairly simular thought patterns ATM.
