This guy is so far overrated it is ridiculous. If he is in our best 22 in another 3 years then we have gone no where.

He lacks skill, composure, any sort of football brain and is lazy. What does he bring to the side. He cannot tag for shit...Ablett had 26 touches or something today while carrying an injury and I don't think I have ever seen him shut down a player well.

I rarely see him chasing/pressuring a player when that is meant to be what he brings to the side.

He constantly gets caught with the ball because his the slowest decision maker on the field. Today when he got tackled in the forward 50 he actually did a full spin with his arms free and didn;t think to get rid of it.

Not to mention when he does take a mark he holds onto the ball and slows down play forever.

For some reason this bloke is rated and I would love to see him traded.

The only good sign from him today was that he actually kicked the damn ball... Every other week he has been possessed with handballing the footy. At times he doesn't look interested, maybe he needs a spell to get his crap together.

In honour of George Costanza, Jacko is a 'chucker'. Any time he is remotely within range he will not even consider a pass and always seems to miss.

The most fight he showed all day was when he dumped Ablett at qtr time. Ablett rightfully just laughed at him.

Was pretty good early on in the year, though has been pretty poor since. Needs to find some form in the 2's.

As I've said before, hopefully Helbig can develop into the two mid that can hurt teams with great tackling/defensive pressure and good foot skills. He certainly looks the bit.

Jackson and Reiwoldt are both playing hurt, have been for weeks, either would struggle to beat Browne in a test of agility and sprint ATM.

Then we shouldnt be playing either of them.

Especially not from now on since our season is officially done.

Play Post and Webberley instead.

Exactly PHX, why risk playing injured players... It smells like Wallace and the Benny cousins drama when he screwed his hamstring.

Play fit players and don't cheat yourself!

He is rated by some due to his athletic ability, another player who is never going to worry a opposing side !

You won't catch me disagreeing PHX, Jackson's ran like a crab for two months now, Reiwoldt at least a month if not longer.

It's all about the development...or something...:o

Both *should* be getting scheduled for surgery very soon so they get a full pre-season in, but let's not hold our breath.

No doubt.

We all saw how good Jackson's form was earlier in the year and it was acknowledged by many doubters (like me) but it's obvious when you watch him run he's nowhere near match fit and for a player whose main strength is based on just that he's just not worth playing.

Actually has a decent kick on him. His awareness and the spped of his decision making is not very good.

He has a penetrating kick, accuracy comes and goes. But yes, his decision making, awareness and just all-round football smarts are horrendous.

No doubt about it mate, we could have lost with some honour and found out the things we needed to about Contin, Hislop and others, and given the bloke a spell. If we wanted to keep as good a 22 on the park as possible, bring Tuck in for a month and get Jackson right, or shelve him like we did with Foley and use Tuck as the insurance we supposedly kept him for.

We need to have everyone as healthy as possible 3+ years from now, and ask proper questions of our fringe players if our depth fails us. Playing Webberley in an unfamiliar role as a HFF, then making him sub, then sending him back to the VFL is not development IMO, it's bollocks. Playing Hislop as a mid in the VFL, then mostly as a defensive forward in the AFL, then dumping him after a couple of games where he was as serviceable as a number of 'stars' in losses, that's not development, it's wasting a list spot and wasting everyone's time. Nason has been the same, ditto Gourdis. What could Hardwick find out about these players in two games or less that he didn't know already? Why play them if you're not going to have an extended look at them under senior match conditions? Why play senior players hurt if you're not trying to win?

It's no wonder our morale is shot to pieces, the average local high school footy coach could pick the side and manage it better, today we saw that even the players are waking up to it.

jacko rose to a handy sort of player, hard at it with a good workrate and won plenty of the pill...he has slipped to a very ordinary player that seems to have gone backwards at the rate of knots, not quick by hand , mind or foot to keep up with the modern game, should be the first dropped for next week and an almost certain delisting

Supposed to be an ..."on field leader"

To me, Jackson epitomises what's wrong with our club. How long has been on the list for? 6 or 7 years? Geez, he's been a very ordinary foot soldier for all of them.
Has been horrible this year and he is the classic example of us holding onto players for too long hoping that they will come good. And that's the key word here 'hoping'. There's been no science involved, it's been pure hope. And false hope at that.
Throw in Edwards as well.

Looks like he is defs playing injured. Though he isn't great when fully fit.

Fully fit he is maybe a solid second string inside mid.

He's just another version of Steven Sziller. Mid-paced, mid-skilled, mid-everything. He will never be a class player. The worst thing is he has no awareness and frequently gets caught with the ball or spoiled. Cotchin, Martin, Deledio, these guys, although not playing too well (along with the rest of the team) are good players. Jackson is just a spud and should have been traded two years ago when we might have tricked a few clubs into thinking he had potential to be a handy player.
